Software Acquisitions in New Mexico

Cadence Design Systems announced the acquisition of OpenEye Scientific Software for approximately $500 million, extending Cadence's computational software expertise into molecular modeling and simulation for life sciences. OpenEye's cloud-native Orion SaaS platform and scientific toolkits—used by 19 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies—will be combined with Cadence's algorithmic, solver and large-data management capabilities to accelerate computational drug discovery; the deal is expected to contribute about $40 million in fiscal 2023.

Fullsteam, a holding company focused on software and payments, acquired Event Rental Systems in Q4 2018. The acquisition will allow Event Rental Systems to accelerate development and launch a new point-of-sale system by leveraging Fullsteam's payments infrastructure and operational support.

Uptake has acquired Albuquerque-based Asset Performance Technologies, Inc. (APT), maker of the Preventance APM and the Asset Strategy Library (ASL). The acquisition gives Uptake access to APT's library of failure-mode data for nearly 800 equipment types to enhance its industrial AI, build learning digital twins, and improve asset performance management for power generation, petrochemical, oil & gas, steel and other heavy industries.
