Telecommunications Acquisitions in Michigan

Highline has acquired the fiber assets and ISP business of 906 Technologies, LLC, including internet customers and outside plant & construction employees in Marquette County, Michigan. The deal expands Highline's FTTP footprint across Michigan's Upper Peninsula and transfers ISP operations to Highline while allowing 906 Technologies to focus on its network and technology service clients.

Grain Management, a specialist investor in digital infrastructure, has completed a majority investment in Michigan-based ISP and data center operator 123NET. The partnership will support expansion of 123NET's fiber and high-density data center capabilities across Michigan while leaving the company's leadership in place with a meaningful ownership stake.

Constructel Visabeira, a subsidiary of Grupo Visabeira backed by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, has acquired Verità Telecommunications Corporation, a US-based wireline and wireless services provider headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan. The deal doubles Constructel's US revenues to over $250 million, gives it a strong platform in the Central US telecom services market, and keeps Verità's existing management team in place under CEO Michael A. Falsetti.

ePlus inc. acquired certain assets and liabilities of the Network Solutions Group (NSG), a business unit of CCI Systems, Inc., in a transaction that closed April 30, 2023. The acquisition expands ePlus' engineering, sales, and service delivery capabilities in the broadband service provider end-market; financial terms were not disclosed.

Igneo Infrastructure Partners has completed the acquisition of US Signal Company, LLC, a Grand Rapids–based provider of data center, connectivity, cloud hosting, colocation, and disaster recovery services. Igneo said the deal expands its North American digital infrastructure portfolio and will support investment and expansion of US Signal's data centers and 9,500-route-mile fiber network.

DC BLOX has acquired Southeastern dark fiber assets from Light Source Communications and Ascendant Capital (Ascendant Fiber Capital), including a long-haul route under development from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia. The transaction brings Light Source co-founders Debra Freitas and Pete Empie to DC BLOX to lead fiber development, and DC BLOX said Post Road Group, Bain Capital and Ascendant Capital Partners are providing financial support to accelerate deployment across the Southeast.

L4, LLC, an affiliate of Linx Partners, has acquired a stake in Clear Rate Communications, a Troy, Michigan-based provider of fiber internet, hosted voice, cloud and managed IT services. Founders Thane and Sam Namy will remain in senior management and retain significant ownership as the company pursues expanded geographic reach and growth backed by financing from Texas Capital Bank.

Advantage GPS, an Irvine-based provider of automotive analytics and GPS risk-mitigation solutions, acquired Michigan-based Asset Tracking Technology, a distributor of GPS tracking devices serving subprime lenders, BHPH dealerships and fleets. The acquisition strengthens Advantage GPS's Midwest presence and ability to deliver in-person service and expanded device distribution while the Asset Tracking Technology team will remain to support the transition.

Everstream has agreed to acquire Rocket Fiber, a Detroit-based fiber internet service provider, including its fiber network, two downtown Detroit offices and more than 75 employees. The acquisition expands Everstream's Midwest footprint and gives it the largest fiber footprint in greater downtown Detroit; terms were not disclosed.
