Telecommunications Acquisitions in Oregon

Vero Broadband (operating as Vero Fiber) has completed the acquisition of BendTel, Inc. following final FCC approval, closing on December 1, 2025. The deal brings BendTel's staff, fiber infrastructure, and commercial customer base into Vero to accelerate residential Fiber-to-the-Home expansion across Bend and broader Central Oregon.

Bluewave Technology Group has acquired ForesTel, a telecommunications advisory firm based in West Linn, Oregon. The deal—financial terms undisclosed—gives Bluewave its first presence in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and expands its telecom and IT advisory capabilities to serve ForesTel's ~700 commercial clients.

Hunter Communications, a Grain Management-backed fiber-optic provider based in Medford, Oregon, has acquired Origin Networks LLC, the parent company of InfoStructure. The deal expands Hunter's regional footprint and technical capabilities for delivering business internet, voice and cloud services across Oregon.

Hunter Communications, a Grain Management–backed fiber-optic ISP based in Oregon, has acquired McMinnville Access Company LLC, the parent of OnlineNW and XS Media. The add-on expands Hunter's footprint and product offerings across the Willamette Valley and increases its Oregon workforce by about 30 percent to more than 180 employees.

Congruex, a Crestview Partners-backed national provider of telecom engineering and construction services, acquired A&M Communications, a Boring, Oregon-based wireless telecommunications installer and maintenance provider. The add-on expands Congruex's footprint across the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountain and Texas regions and strengthens its wireless infrastructure and cell-tower capabilities.

InstarAGF Asset Management Inc. completed its acquisition of LS Networks, a Portland-based fiber-optic bandwidth infrastructure provider, from a collective of Oregon rural electric cooperatives. LS Networks' management will remain in place as the company continues to expand its network across the Pacific Northwest; financial terms were not disclosed.

IntelliSite Corporation, a DFW Capital portfolio company, has acquired Broad Sky Networks and concurrently created a new holding company, EPIC IO Technologies, to hold both businesses. The deal combines IntelliSite’s IoT, AI-enabled edge computing and software capabilities with Broad Sky’s managed wireless and emerging 5G connectivity services to expand capability and market reach across public sector, healthcare, retail and manufacturing customers.

GTCR has agreed to acquire a majority interest in Consumer Cellular, the U.S. wireless provider focused on customers 50+, in a transaction expected to close by the end of 2020. Founder and CEO John Marick will retire but remain a board member and shareholder; GTCR said it will invest to continue the company’s growth while Consumer Cellular retains its offices and nearly 2,000 employees.

Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm Grain Management has acquired a majority interest in Hunter Communications, a regional fiber-optic network operator serving southern Oregon and parts of northern California. The deal (terms undisclosed) will support Hunter's network densification and footprint expansion as the company prepares for growth under Grain's ownership.
