Anthropic’s Blackstone- and Hellman & Friedman-backed enterprise services joint venture acquired Fractional AI, an applied AI implementation firm based in San Francisco. The acquisition provides the new (as-yet-unnamed) venture with Fractional’s delivery team to help midsize businesses deploy Anthropic’s Claude into core operations.
Anthropic has acquired Stainless, a startup providing SDK generation and MCP server tooling that helps developers and AI agents connect to APIs and external systems. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Claude’s agent connectivity capabilities and improve the developer experience across languages by bringing the Stainless team into Anthropic’s platform organization.
Anthropic acquired stealth-stage biotech AI startup Coefficient Bio in an all-stock transaction valued at just over $400 million. The Coefficient Bio team (fewer than 10 employees) will be integrated into Anthropic’s healthcare and life sciences division to enhance Claude for Life Sciences for drug discovery and regulatory workflows.
Anthropic announced it has acquired Vercept to expand Claude’s “computer use” capabilities, enabling the model to execute increasingly complex multi-step tasks inside live applications. As part of the deal, Vercept will wind down its external product in the coming weeks (with one report citing a March 25 wind-down) and its team will join Anthropic to further develop these capabilities.
