I Squared Capital and a consortium of TPG and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) have emerged as final contenders to acquire a controlling stake in KKR-backed Re Sustainability Ltd. The waste-management and environmental services company is expected to be valued at more than $1.6 billion, with binding bids due in the next 10–15 days.
TPG has signed definitive agreements to simultaneously acquire Waste Eliminator and Liberty Waste Solutions from Allied Industrial Partners.
