Construction Acquisitions in New York

TopBuild has acquired Applied Coatings and Upstate Spray Foam, two Winfield, New York-based contractors that collectively generate about $20 million in annual revenue. The acquisitions expand TopBuild’s installation and specialty distribution footprint in the U.S. Northeast, strengthening its presence across New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts; financial terms were not disclosed.

DBI Consultants has acquired Minogue Associates, Inc., a Long Island–based construction consulting firm that provides valuation, damage assessment, and technical advisory services. The acquisition expands DBI's national construction-consulting platform and technical capabilities to better support insurers, attorneys, and other industry clients across the United States.

O2 Investment Partners, through its pool-care platform Azureon, has made an investment in and partnered with Precision Pool & Spa, a Fairport, New York-based full-service pool maintenance and construction company. The deal is an add-on to Azureon's growing Northeast platform; Precision's management (led by President Dave Cox) will retain significant ownership and will gain access to Azureon's operational resources and technology.

GreenLite, a U.S.-based construction technology company offering AI-powered permitting and private plan review solutions, raised $49.5 million in a Series B led by Insight Partners with participation from Energize Capital and existing backers Craft Ventures, LiveOak Ventures, and Chicago Ventures. The funding will be used to enhance GreenLite's AI platform (LiteTable) and expand into additional end markets including lodging, logistics, clean energy infrastructure, and multifamily housing; the company has ~50 employees and serves major enterprise customers.

Confluence Point Holdings has acquired Perry's Roofing, a Pleasantville, New York-based residential re-roofing contractor, and launched Eastern Exterior Partners (EXP) as a platform to scale exterior home services across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. The deal is supported by investors including Pacific Lake Partners, HighVista Strategies, and TTCER Partners and will pursue organic growth and add-on acquisitions to expand roofing, gutters, siding and related services.

Azureon, a pool care platform backed by O2 Investment Partners, has acquired Pelican Pools, a Southampton, New York-based full-service residential pool maintenance and construction company. The add-on expands Azureon's Northeast coverage (notably the Hamptons/Long Island area) and Pelican will continue operating under its existing leadership while retaining significant ownership.

The Valcourt Group has acquired Cercone Exterior Restoration, LLC to enter the Manhattan metropolitan market and expand its historic facade restoration capabilities. Cercone — founded and led by Henry Cercone with offices in Manhattan and Queens — will continue to operate under Valcourt, leveraging expanded resources to pursue larger-scale exterior restoration, masonry, waterproofing and roofing projects.

Kiely Family of Companies (KIELY) has acquired All Bright Electric, an electrical contracting firm based in West Nyack, New York. The acquisition expands KIELY’s service capabilities into electrical contracting and strengthens its engineering and construction platform in the Hudson Valley region.

TenCate Grass has acquired a majority stake in The LandTek Group, a Bay Shore, New York-based provider of athletic field engineering, construction, project management and maintenance services across the U.S. East Coast. The LandTek founders and management will remain substantial shareholders and continue to lead the company as TenCate looks to expand its East Coast footprint and combine LandTek's service capabilities with TenCate's product portfolio and U.S. supply chain.

The Valcourt Group has acquired Lupini Construction, a family-run historical masonry restoration and waterproofing specialist based in Utica, New York. The deal expands Valcourt's Northeast footprint and adds historical restoration capabilities to its commercial exterior services offering.

River Sea Network and Pearl Street Capital Partners announced the formation of Aligned Exteriors Group (AEG), a new residential roofing and exterior services platform based in New York. AEG will pursue a buy-and-build strategy to partner with and acquire best-in-class residential roofing and exteriors companies across the United States.

Bertram Capital portfolio company ReVamp Companies has merged with The Vinyl Outlet, a Buffalo-based residential fencing and decking installer, to expand ReVamp's fencing and decking division and extend its service territory into Western New York. Terms were not disclosed; ReVamp will leverage Bertram Capital's in-house technology team, Bertram Labs, to support customer acquisition and operational expansion.

Milwaukee-based Roofed Right America (RRA), a commercial roofing platform backed by Great Range Capital, has acquired Upstate Roofing & Painting, a Rochester, New York-based provider of reroofing, painting and repair services. Upstate — its first add-on for the RRA platform — will continue to be led by President Bob Morgan and brings a team of more than 100 employees serving commercial clients across Western and Upstate New York.

Bertram Capital has completed an investment in The Vinyl Outlet (TVO), a Buffalo, New York–based direct-to-consumer installer of residential vinyl fences, decks, porches and railings. The deal establishes TVO as a platform company for Bertram’s Fund IV and the company plans to expand geographically and pursue select add-on acquisitions; terms were not disclosed.

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. acquired a majority stake in Empire Crane Company, creating a coast-to-coast alliance that expands Bigge's 'Perfect Fleet' availability on the East Coast. The partnership gives Empire customers access to Bigge's inventory, dealer pricing and priority ordering from major crane manufacturers while enabling geographic expansion into the Gulf, Mountain and West Coast regions.

The Bay Crane Companies, Inc. has acquired Cranes, Inc., a third-generation crane rental business with roots in New York City, combining the fleets and expertise of both firms. The transaction expands Bay Crane’s presence and capabilities in the New York City metropolitan area and reinforces its leadership position in crane rental and specialized heavy lifting services.

ReVamp Companies, a platform portfolio company of Bertram Capital, has acquired Apollo Concrete Coatings, a residential concrete coatings installer operating in the Buffalo/Rochester, NY area and recently in Pittsburgh. The add-on expands ReVamp's footprint in the Northeast U.S.; terms were not disclosed.

National Trench Safety (NTS), a portfolio company of Tailwind Capital, has acquired the assets and operations of Vellano Shoring and Supply, which operates locations in Buffalo and Albany, New York and serves nearby New England and Mid-Atlantic markets. The deal expands NTS's trench shoring and safety footprint in the region; Vellano's President Paul Vellano Jr. will join NTS's district leadership team.

Greenwood Industries, a New England building envelope solutions firm, has acquired Hudson Valley Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc., a commercial roofing contractor based in New Windsor, New York. The deal expands Greenwood's footprint into the Metropolitan New York and Hudson Valley markets and combines Greenwood's building envelope capabilities with Hudson Valley Roofing's regional reputation and unionized workforce.

Tecta America, the national commercial roofing leader headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, has acquired Deer Park, New York-based Roof Services of New York. The Plotke family will remain in leadership roles as the business becomes Roof Services of New York, a Tecta America company, supporting Tecta's regional expansion across Long Island and the New York metropolitan area.

Milburn Flooring, a Copiague, New York-based commercial flooring contractor, has acquired Blendex Industrial Corp. of Lindenhurst, New York, adding Blendex's epoxy and industrial resin flooring capabilities as the new “Blendex by Milburn Flooring” division. The deal expands Milburn’s service offerings and installation capabilities across the New York metropolitan and broader tri-state markets.

BizGro Partners, a New Jersey-based private investment firm, acquired Lake Champlain Roofing, a family-run roofing contractor based in Plattsburgh, New York. The transaction closed on September 21, 2021 and was advised by Generational Equity; BizGro intends to continue building a national portfolio of roofing companies.

RedTeam, an Orlando-based construction management software provider, acquired the Fieldlens mobile field management plan-markup technology to integrate its plan-markup and field-collaboration capabilities into the RedTeam platform. Fieldlens' mobile-first tool will be integrated into RedTeam and offered as a standalone product to expand RedTeam's capabilities for general contractors and subcontractors.

Clairvest Group Inc. (TSX: CVG) made an equity investment in Durante Rentals to support a recapitalization and provide capital for growth. Durante Rentals is a leading independent construction equipment rental provider in the New York metropolitan area operating a ~10-branch network and will continue to be led by co-founder and CEO Anthony Durante, who remains a significant shareholder.
