Automattic has acquired Texts.com, a desktop-first messaging app that consolidates conversations from platforms like iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, LinkedIn, Slack and Discord into a single, encrypted inbox. The acquisition expands Automattic’s consumer product portfolio into messaging and adds AI features (message summarization, drafting, translation) while the Texts.com team works on a mobile rollout.
