Automattic Acquires Beeper

Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, has acquired messaging startup Beeper in a deal that closed April 1 for about $125 million. The Beeper team will join Automattic's messaging efforts (including last year’s Texts.com acquisition); Beeper founder Eric Migicovsky will lead messaging at Automattic as Head of Messaging and the product will be integrated and expanded under the Beeper brand.

Xcite Automotive Acquires CarsByText.com

The acquisition brings CarsByText founder Raj Suchak into Xcite as Chief Technology Officer and adds text-first automation capabilities to Xcite's dealer-focused software and services.

Constant Contact Acquires Txtify Technologies' Business

Constant Contact has acquired the business of Txtify Technologies to add mobile-first lead generation microsites and survey capabilities to its marketing platform. The acquisition expands Constant Contact's ability to help small businesses convert social media engagement into owned contacts and revenue; Txtify co-founders John Stewart and Eric Dewhirst will join Constant Contact to lead integration of the technology.

Capacity Acquires Textel

Relativity Acquires Text IQ

Relativity, the legal and compliance software company, has acquired Text IQ, an AI company that applies machine learning and NLP to identify sensitive and privileged data for e-discovery, compliance and privacy workflows. The deal will integrate Text IQ's AI capabilities into RelativityOne and Relativity Trace to accelerate automation and improve detection and review efficiency for law firms, enterprises and government customers.

Commify Acquires Text Request to Accelerate U.S. Expansion

Backed by ECI Partners, the add-on deal brings a fast-growing SaaS business with ~40 employees, ~7,500 customers and nearly $15m ARR into Commify’s portfolio while keeping operations in Chattanooga.
