Netmore Group Acquires Actility

Netmore Group has acquired Paris-based Actility, including its Abeeway subsidiary, combining Netmore's carrier-grade LoRaWAN network operations with Actility's ThingPark platform and geolocation products. The deal creates a unified global LoRaWAN ecosystem with over 14 million contracted IoT devices and expands Netmore's reach across utilities, buildings, smart cities, industrial and asset-tracking markets.

NewNet to Acquire Nokia Siemens Networks' WiMAX Business

NewNet Communication Technologies, a Skyview Capital portfolio company, announced plans to acquire the WiMAX business from Nokia Siemens Networks, including the full product portfolio, related employees and assets, and active customer and supplier contracts. Approximately 300 Nokia Siemens Networks employees (many in suburban Chicago, USA and Hangzhou, China) are expected to transfer; the deal was expected to close before December 31, 2011 and terms were not disclosed.

Alares Acquires Webby Internet

Alares, the Grain Management-backed Brazilian telecommunications operator, has acquired Webby Internet, a São Paulo-based internet service provider. The add-on expands Alares' fiber backbone and customer base — adding about 115,000 customers and ~450 employees — strengthening its presence in São Paulo and marking entry into Paraná as part of an inorganic consolidation strategy.
