Ahimsa Companies, a New York-based holding company focused on plant-based brands, has acquired Blackbird Foods, a New York-based maker of frozen plant-based pizzas, wings, seitan and dairy-free cheese. The acquisition is intended to expand Blackbird's retail and foodservice distribution, strengthen manufacturing capacity, and accelerate product innovation as part of Ahimsa's roll-up strategy in alternative proteins.
