Fastly, Inc. has acquired Fanout, a small real-time messaging and streaming API platform, to integrate Fanout's proxy-based real-time technology into Fastly's Compute@Edge and broader edge cloud offerings. The acquisition is intended to accelerate real-time app development at the edge, improving time-to-market and enabling scalable, transport-agnostic real-time experiences for both SMB and enterprise customers.
