Charterhouse Capital Partners has agreed to invest in SLR Consulting, a global environmental and advisory consultancy, in a deal implemented via a court-approved scheme of arrangement expected to complete by mid‑2018. As part of the transaction 3i will fully exit its holding while SLR management and employees retain a substantial equity stake; Charterhouse’s investment will support SLR’s organic growth and acquisitive consolidation of the fragmented environmental consultancy market.

SLR Consulting Acquires Corporate Citizenship and Vectos

SLR Acquires WAP Sustainability

SLR International Corporation (SLR) has acquired WAP Sustainability, LLC, a Nashville-based sustainability consulting and ESG data solutions firm. The deal brings nearly 100 WAP employees and enhances SLR's sustainability consulting, product‑sustainability and ESG data capabilities to serve building products, packaging, textiles, electronics and consumer goods clients.

Searchlight Capital Partners and Ares Management Invest £500M in RSK Group

RSK Group agreed to receive a £500 million preferred equity investment from a consortium led by Searchlight Capital Partners and Ares Management funds. Ares also committed an incremental £300 million debt facility (bringing its total available debt facilities to £1.4 billion) to support RSK’s 2030 strategy, including organic growth and the company’s acquisition programme. The capital will be used to accelerate RSK’s expansion of environmental consulting and engineering services globally.

Ares Management Acquires Majority Stake in Landscape Workshop

Ares Private Equity (part of Ares Management Corporation) has acquired a majority stake in Landscape Workshop, a Birmingham, Alabama–based commercial landscaping and grounds management provider. Carousel Capital, which invested in Landscape Workshop in 2020, sold a majority position but will retain a significant stake; Ares intends to provide capital to expand the company’s regional footprint and scale through strategic acquisitions.

SER Capital Partners Acquires Charah Solutions

Funds managed by SER Capital Partners completed the acquisition of Charah Solutions, Inc., a Louisville-based provider of environmental remediation, ash management and byproduct recycling services to the power generation industry, for $6.00 per share. The transaction (approved July 12, 2023) takes Charah private from Bernhard Capital Partners and other shareholders; Charah's outstanding 8.50% Senior Notes remain obligations of the company and the business will continue operating under SER with its existing management and nearly 600 employees.
