Ares Management to Acquire SLR Consulting from Charterhouse Capital Partners

Charterhouse Capital Partners has agreed to sell SLR Consulting, a global environmental and sustainability consultancy with over 2,300 employees, to a private equity fund managed by Ares Management Corporation. The transaction, implemented via a conditional court-approved scheme, is expected to close by Q4 2022 subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals; Ares said it will support SLR’s next phase of growth in ESG and sustainability services.

VLS Environmental Solutions Acquires SRE Environmental

Houston-based VLS Environmental Solutions, a portfolio company of I Squared Capital, has acquired Phoenix-based SRE Environmental, a provider of commercial and industrial wastewater and solid waste management services. The add-on expands VLS's footprint and capabilities in the western United States, adding evaporation-pond wastewater disposal, tanker transport assets and new customer relationships; financial terms were not disclosed.

WGSN (Apax-backed) Acquires IWSR from Bowmark Capital

WGSN, controlled by funds advised by Apax Partners LLP, has acquired IWSR, the global leader in data, analytics and insights for the beverage alcohol industry, from Bowmark Capital. The acquisition—supported by Apax following its January 2024 acquisition of WGSN—strengthens WGSN's AI, data analytics and long-range forecasting capabilities; terms were not disclosed and the deal closed in June 2025.

Waste Services Group Acquires CSA Specialised Services and APC

The deals expand WSG’s end-to-end waste capabilities, strengthen liquid waste and post-collection treatment services, and advance its ESG and sustainability consulting offering for clients across commercial, infrastructure and public sectors.
