Israir Subsidiary Acquires Additional Stakes in Bird Aviation

Tel Aviv-based Israir (through its subsidiary Israir Aviation and Tourism) agreed to buy a 25% stake in Cyprus-based MRO provider Bird Aviation from Bird Aerosystems for €2.75 million, and plans to acquire a further 12.5% for ~€1.375 million with a put option to purchase the remaining 12.5% two years after. The staged transaction increases Israir's ownership of the Larnaca-headquartered maintenance specialist and is intended to support fleet development plans, finance capacity and expanded MRO capabilities at Bird Aviation's Larnaca base.
