HCI Equity Partners and Emerald Lake Capital Management are lead investors in a funding round for Pacific Defense, a newly formed defense-electronics platform led by Travis Slocumb. Pacific Defense has acquired Spectranetix (CMOSS/SOSA defense electronics) and made a minority investment in Perceptronics Solutions (AI/ML software) to expand its electronic warfare, communications, and signals-intelligence capabilities for U.S. defense customers.

Sigma Defense Acquires EWA Inc.

Sigma Defense, a Sagewind Capital portfolio company, has acquired EWA Inc., an electronic warfare (EW) developer headquartered in Herndon, Virginia. The add-on expands Sigma Defense's CJADC2 and EW capabilities by integrating EWA's EW systems, simulators, training, and signal analysis expertise into Sigma's software-led defense portfolio.

Radiance Technologies Acquires Phased n Research

Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee‑owned prime contractor based in Huntsville, Alabama, has acquired Phased n Research, a radar and electronic warfare (EW) engineering firm founded in 2018. The deal brings Phasedn’s radar, modeling & simulation, and EW capabilities into Radiance’s portfolio; founder Dr. Bassem Mahafza will move to an emeritus/advisor role and Dr. Mark Tillman will become President of Phasedn to ensure continuity and alignment with Department of Defense modernization efforts.

Eqlipse Technologies (Arlington-backed) to Acquire SR Technologies

Eqlipse Technologies, a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners, has agreed to acquire SR Technologies (SRT), a provider of signals intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic warfare (EW) products and engineering solutions. The add-on acquisition expands Eqlipse's technical capabilities for Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and federal law enforcement customers; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal was expected to close in Q4 2023.

Sensata Technologies Acquires Spear Power Systems

Sensata Technologies has agreed to acquire Spear Power Systems, a Grandview, Missouri-based developer and manufacturer of advanced energy storage systems, to advance Sensata's electrification strategy. The deal (financial terms undisclosed) brings Spear's team — including more than 40 engineers — and its battery management and energy storage capabilities into Sensata to expand its clean energy and OEM solutions.

AE Industrial Partners Acquires American Pacific Corporation

AE Industrial Partners (AEI) has acquired American Pacific Corporation, a Cedar City, Utah-based manufacturer of specialty chemicals and materials used in aerospace, defense, space launch and fire suppression applications, from Huntsman Family Investments. The deal, which closed Feb. 6, 2020, will position AEI to grow American Pacific as a platform investment and further support customers in national security and space programs.
