Power Integrations has agreed to acquire the assets of Odyssey Semiconductor Technologies, a developer of vertical gallium-nitride (GaN) transistor technology. The deal, expected to close in July 2024, will bring key Odyssey employees into Power Integrations' technology organization to accelerate the company's PowiGaN roadmap and broaden its high-voltage GaN capabilities.

Renesas Electronics Acquires Steradian Semiconductors

Renesas Electronics Corporation completed the acquisition of Steradian Semiconductors Private Limited on October 17, 2022, making Steradian a wholly owned subsidiary. Renesas will integrate Steradian's 4D imaging radar technology with its ADAS SoCs, PMICs and software to expand its automotive radar product portfolio and accelerate radar system development for automotive and industrial applications.

Renesas Electronics Corporation has completed its acquisition of Altium Limited, a leading PCB design software and cloud-platform provider, via a Scheme of Arrangement under Australian law. The all-cash transaction values Altium at approximately A$9.1 billion and brings Altium’s Altium 365 cloud capabilities into Renesas to accelerate a system-level electronics design and lifecycle management platform and advance Renesas' digitalization strategy.

The acquisition adds SiC capability and a profitable, fast-growing business (2022 revenue ~ $25M, >25% EBITDA margins) to Navitas' GaN portfolio to create a more comprehensive power-semiconductor offering for EV, solar, and industrial markets.

Eaton Acquires Resilient Power Systems

Eaton has completed the acquisition of Resilient Power Systems Inc., an Austin-based developer and manufacturer of solid-state transformer technology and ultra-compact EV charging depots. Eaton said the deal will help scale Resilient's next-generation medium-voltage solid-state transformer technology for markets including data centers, energy storage and EV charging.
