Advanced Automation Technologies (AAT), a PE-backed laboratory automation platform supported by Battery Ventures, has acquired TE Instruments (TEI), a Delft-based specialist in combustion elemental analyzers. TEI will join AAT's family of brands (including Skalar Analytical, LCTech, PromoChrom, EST Analytical, tsHR and GERSTEL) to create a unified combustion analyzer division and expand AAT's global sales, service and technical support in environmental, petrochemical and industrial markets.

Applied Technical Services Acquires Amphion Analytical Engineering

Applied Technical Services (ATS) has purchased substantially all of the assets of Amphion Analytical Engineering, P.A., a Charlotte-based engineering and analytical services firm. The acquisition adds API certifications, additional licensed Professional Engineers and mechanical integrity capabilities to ATS, and expands ATS's presence in the tire manufacturing, chemical, and pharmaceutical end markets; the new team will be led by Mark Ellis.

Badger Meter Acquires SmartCover Systems from XPV Water Partners

Badger Meter, Inc. has acquired SmartCover Systems from XPV Water Partners, adding real-time sewer and lift station monitoring to its BlueEdge suite of water management solutions. The acquisition expands Badger Meter’s capabilities in collection system monitoring and brings SmartCover’s sensor- and data-driven remote monitoring technology and customer base into Badger Meter’s global smart water offering.

Philips Acquires Analytical Informatics, Inc.

Royal Philips has acquired US-based startup Analytical Informatics, Inc. to integrate the company's vendor-agnostic radiology workflow and analytics tools into Philips' PerformanceBridge radiology portfolio. The acquisition is intended to accelerate Philips' roadmap for Radiology Solutions by expanding operational intelligence, workflow optimization and data-driven decision support for imaging departments and enterprise customers; financial terms were not disclosed.

Waters Corporation Acquires Wyatt Technology

Waters Corporation agreed to acquire Wyatt Technology, a leader in light scattering instruments, software and related services, for $1.36 billion in cash. The acquisition (expected to close in Q2 2023) expands Waters' capabilities and exposure to bioanalytical characterization and large-molecule applications; Wyatt reported ~ $110 million in 2022 revenue and employs more than 200 people worldwide.

ATS Corporation Acquires Avidity Science

ATS Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Avidity Science, a designer and manufacturer of automated water purification and delivery systems for biomedical and life science applications, for US$195 million. The acquisition strengthens ATS's life sciences capabilities and is expected to close in Q4 2023 subject to customary regulatory filings.
