Ontario Teachers' Acquires Majority Stake in Sevana Bioenergy

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Sevana Bioenergy and will make a $250 million capital commitment to accelerate development of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across North America. Sevana, an owner-operator of large-scale anaerobic digestion projects, has deployed over $350 million of projects under construction and operates digester facilities across agricultural regions including Oregon, Idaho and South Dakota.

Covanta Acquires BIOLOGIC Environmental Services and Waste Solutions

Bioenergy DevCo Acquires BTS Biogas

Bioenergy DevCo (Bioenergy Development Company) has acquired Italy-based BTS Biogas to expand anaerobic digestion technology and operations in North America. BTS Biogas will operate as an affiliate, enabling Bioenergy DevCo to deploy modular anaerobic digestion plants that convert organic waste into renewable natural gas and soil amendments.

EverGen Infrastructure Acquires Fraser Valley Biogas

EverGen Infrastructure Corp., a Canadian renewable natural gas (RNG) infrastructure platform, has acquired Fraser Valley Biogas Ltd., the original producing RNG facility in Western Canada located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. EverGen plans to expand and optimize the facility—boosting production from over 80,000 gigajoules annually to more than 125,000 gigajoules—and integrate operations with its existing BC waste-to-energy projects to realize operational synergies.

Ares Management Acquires Burnham RNG from Edge Natural Resources

A fund managed by Ares Management's Infrastructure Opportunities strategy has acquired Burnham RNG from Edge Natural Resources. The investment will support Burnham's development and construction of a pipeline of renewable natural gas (RNG) and waste-to-biogas projects across the United States, including the Pasco Resource Recovery Center in Pasco, Washington.
