Sentinel Capital Partners Acquires High Bar Brands

Sentinel Capital Partners has acquired High Bar Brands, LLC, the Owatonna, Minnesota-based manufacturer and distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer components and branded aftermarket products. Heartwood Partners (Heartwood Partners Fund III, LP) exited its investment; terms were not disclosed. High Bar operates iconic brands including Minimizer, Premier Mfg., Dieter's Accessories, Panelite, and Viking with ~225 employees across six facilities.

High Bar Brands Acquires Viking Sales, Inc.

High Bar Brands, a commercial-vehicle products platform, has acquired Viking Sales, Inc., a Brighton, Michigan-based manufacturer of rubber and polyethylene mud flaps serving OEM and aftermarket channels. The deal (announced August 2022) brings Viking's ISO-9001 certified manufacturing, OEM relationships, and proprietary mud-flap technologies into the High Bar Brands portfolio with support from Heartwood Partners; Hart Marx Advisors acted as buy-side advisor.

High Bar Brands Acquires BettsHD from Betts Company

High Bar Brands (HBB) has acquired BettsHD, a division of the 156-year-old Betts Company based in Fresno, California. The BettsHD product lines (including metal fenders and mud flap hangers) will retain the BettsHD brand, with Betts Company continuing to operate its other divisions while Bill Betts remains invested in the BettsHD business under HBB.

DPI Off-Road Brands Acquires JT's Parts and Accessories

DPI Off-Road Brands (f/k/a Daystar Products International), a Phoenix-based automotive aftermarket parts platform backed by Dubin Clark, has acquired JT's Parts and Accessories, a differential and axle-focused parts manufacturer/distributor headquartered in Cashmere, Washington with a second facility in Atlanta, Georgia. The deal is the fifth add-on for DPI Off-Road since its partnership with Dubin Clark began in 2017 and expands DPI's product offering into differentials, axles and related drivetrain components.

Vehicle Accessories Acquires Cord Automotive

(a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries) has acquired Cord Automotive International, a U.S.-based designer and manufacturer of aluminum running boards, door sills, bed rails and other automotive accessories for OEMs. The transaction is an add-on for Vehicle Accessories intended to broaden product categories and OEM relationships; financial terms were not disclosed.

Burnout Brands (Hidden Harbor) Acquires Stake in BD Engine Brake (BD Diesel)

(BD Diesel), a British Columbia–based manufacturer and distributor of turbochargers, transmissions and performance diesel products. The deal is an add-on to build the Burnout Brands platform and the existing BD Diesel owners will retain an ownership stake; terms were not disclosed.
