PDFTron Systems Acquires PDFlib GmbH

PDFTron Systems Inc. has acquired PDFlib GmbH, a Munich-based developer of server-side PDF creation and processing libraries, expanding PDFTron's enterprise PDF capabilities and European presence. The deal follows PDFTron's recent purchase of iText and is supported by PDFTron's minority investor Thoma Bravo, which invested in PDFTron in 2021 to fuel growth and acquisitions.

PDFTron Systems Acquires iText Group NV

The deal (announced April 5, 2022) follows PDFTron's strategic growth investment from Thoma Bravo and Silversmith Capital Partners and brings the combined organization to more than 315 employees serving thousands of enterprise customers.

Clarivate Acquires ProQuest for $5.3 Billion

Clarivate plc completed its acquisition of ProQuest, a global software, content, data and analytics provider for research and learning institutions, for $5.3 billion (including repayment of ProQuest debt). The deal was first announced in May 2021 and expands Clarivate’s research intelligence platform with ProQuest’s curated content and SaaS solutions.

Claranova Completes Buyout of Avanquest Minority Interests

Claranova S.E. completed the buyout of all minority interests in its Avanquest software division on October 29, 2021, paying a total consideration of €99.9 million (valuation of Avanquest shares €155.9 million). The deal was financed with cash, new Claranova shares and promissory notes, giving Claranova 100% ownership of Avanquest Software and enabling full consolidation of the division's recurring SaaS revenues.

ORPALIS Acquires Aquaforest Ltd

ORPALIS, a French publisher of PDF and document imaging developer components, has acquired UK-based Aquaforest Ltd., a specialist in searchable PDFs, automated OCR and document automation for Microsoft platforms. The deal expands ORPALIS's enterprise software offering by integrating Aquaforest's high-performance batch OCR, SharePoint/Office365 tagging tools and Power Automate connectors into its SDK and document lifecycle products.

The acquisition expands PDFTron’s end-to-end document technology platform by combining client-side SDKs with ActivePDF’s scalable server-side automation capabilities to accelerate digital transformation for enterprise clients.
