LUX Global Label, a Resilience Capital Partners-backed label manufacturer, has acquired Labelworx, a Levittown, Pennsylvania-based digital label and packaging specialist. The add-on expands LUX Global Label's digital printing capabilities (including pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging), diversifies its end markets and adds a U.S. production facility to its portfolio.

CD&R Acquires Multi-Color Corporation and Fort Dearborn to Create Global Label Solutions Leader

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) agreed to acquire Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) from Platinum Equity and Fort Dearborn Company from Advent International and combine the two businesses into a single global label solutions platform. The combined company will serve consumer packaged goods customers across Food & Beverage, Home & Personal Care, Wine & Spirits and other specialty end markets, creating roughly $3 billion in annual revenue and expanded global scale.

Multi-Color Corporation Acquires Starport Technologies

Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) has acquired Starport Technologies, an RFID-centric smart labels and RFID tag manufacturer based in Kansas City, Missouri. The deal expands MCC’s RFID and smart-label capabilities and creates a new smart packaging solutions business unit; financial terms were not disclosed.

Platinum Equity Acquires Multi-Color Corporation

An affiliate of Platinum Equity has completed the acquisition of Multi-Color Corporation, taking the Cincinnati-based label and packaging solutions provider private. The deal merges Multi-Color with a subsidiary of Platinum portfolio company WS Packaging to create a combined business with roughly $2.2 billion in annual revenue, 86 plants across 26 countries and over 10,000 employees.

The Kennedy Group Acquires Color Label, Inc.

The Kennedy Group (Willoughby, Ohio) has acquired Color Label, Inc., a St. Louis-based supplier of pressure-sensitive labels serving agricultural and consumer product industries. The deal expands The Kennedy Group’s national footprint into the St. Louis market, shifts production to its Cleveland-area facility while retaining key St. Louis personnel to ensure continuity, and was advised by Graphic Arts Advisors (GAA).

Todd McCullough Acquires Prime Label KC

Prime Label KC, a Belton, Missouri-based manufacturer of custom pressure-sensitive labels, was sold to private investor Todd McCullough in a transaction that closed January 31, 2022. Generational Equity advised the seller (led by Keith Howard), and McCullough becomes owner and president as the company continues serving pharma/healthcare, food & beverage, retail/packaging and industrial customers across the U.S.
