(IRI) and The NPD Group (NPD) announced a definitive agreement to merge, creating a leading global technology, analytics and data provider focused on total retail purchasing and consumption trends. Hellman & Friedman (H&F) will acquire a majority stake in IRI and merge IRI with H&F portfolio company NPD; the merger was later completed.
