Descartes Systems Group has acquired PackageRoute, a US-based provider of final-mile carrier software, for approximately US$2 million in cash. The acquisition adds PackageRoute's mobile and web-based route optimization, real-time visibility and fleet management capabilities to Descartes' GroundCloud suite to strengthen its final-mile carrier offerings.

Via Acquires Citymapper

Via, the New York–based TransitTech company, has acquired Citymapper, the London-based journey planning app, to integrate Citymapper's rider-facing routing and real-time data capabilities into Via's end-to-end TransitTech platform. The deal combines Via's planning and operations software with Citymapper's consumer app and routing algorithms to deliver a unified solution for cities, transit agencies, and riders.

Emburse Acquires Roadmap

The acquisition integrates Roadmap’s configurable, branded mobile travel platform into Emburse’s suite to improve traveler UX, policy compliance and travel data insights; terms were not disclosed.

Routeware Acquires RouteOptix Management Systems

The deal gives Routeware a Canadian operation and expands its product capabilities and experience into additional waste segments including liquid, hazardous and medical waste, as well as document destruction and scrap metal.

Route1 Inc. acquired Spyrus Solutions, a San Jose developer and manufacturer of cryptographic products, for approximately US$0.58 million in cash or assumption of debt plus potential earnout payments tied to gross profit thresholds. The acquisition brings Spyrus' hardware and software cryptographic products and a core engineering team (seven employees added) into Route1 to expand its data security capabilities and product offerings for government, defense, financial and healthcare customers.
