KPS Capital Partners Acquires Porcelain Enamel and Glass Coatings Businesses from Prince International (PEMCO International)

KPS Capital Partners agreed to acquire Prince International Corporation’s porcelain enamel, glass coatings, forehearth colorants and frit-based metallurgical products businesses and will form a standalone company called PEMCO International. The businesses operate three manufacturing facilities across Belgium, Italy and the United States, employ approximately 260 people, and the divestiture enables Prince to progress with its planned acquisition of Ferro Corporation.

KPS Capital Partners Acquires Briggs & Stratton

KPS Capital Partners, through a newly formed affiliate, acquired substantially all assets of Briggs & Stratton Corporation in a Section 363 sale following the Company's Chapter 11 filing, for approximately $550 million. KPS provided $265 million of DIP financing, secured committed exit financing, and named Steve Andrews as President and CEO to lead a relaunch of the company as a well-capitalized independent manufacturer.

Kamps, Inc. Acquires Pal-King, Inc.

Kamps, Inc., a national pallet services company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has acquired Pal-King, Inc., a pallet recycler and manufacturer headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. The acquisition expands Kamps' footprint and capacity in Northern Florida while retaining Pal-King's employees and continuing operations at its White Springs facility.

Pamplona Capital Management Acquires Pelsis from LDC

Pamplona Capital Management has acquired Pelsis, the Knaresborough-headquartered manufacturer and distributor of pest control products, from mid-market private equity firm LDC. Financial terms were not disclosed; Pelsis — which has grown to more than 600 employees and increased sales from €87m to €150m under LDC — will pursue further international expansion under Pamplona's ownership.

Blackstone to Acquire Sabre Industries from The Jordan Company

Blackstone (via its energy-focused funds, Blackstone Energy Partners) has agreed to acquire Sabre Industries, Inc. from The Jordan Company. Sabre, based in Alvarado, Texas, is a manufacturer of engineered overhead steel poles, towers, battery storage solutions and related services for utility and telecom end markets; it will remain an independent Blackstone portfolio company with management and employees staying in place and investing alongside Blackstone.

NPK Construction Equipment Acquires Genesis Attachments from KPS Capital Partners

NPK Construction Equipment, Inc. has acquired Genesis Attachments, LLC from private equity owner KPS Capital Partners. Genesis — a Superior, Wisconsin–based maker of hydraulic shears, grapples and demolition attachments with about 130 associates — will be integrated into NPK’s construction-attachments portfolio while KPS retains other holdings (Crenlo Global).
