Genesis Minerals and Vault Minerals have agreed to merge via a scheme of arrangement, with Genesis acquiring all of Vault’s shares in a transaction valuing Vault at approximately A$5.6 billion (a 15.7% premium). The combined group is expected to create a top-three Australian gold producer, with an announced goal of unlocking around $2.0 billion in post-tax cost synergies and capital savings over 10 years.
