Siemens Healthineers to Acquire Varian Medical Systems

Siemens Healthineers AG has agreed to acquire all shares of Varian Medical Systems, Inc. for USD 177.50 per share, valuing the deal at approximately USD 16.4 billion. The transaction, which aims to create an integrated cancer-care portfolio, is expected to close in H1 2021 subject to Varian shareholder and regulatory approvals.

The deal — approved by the management and supervisory boards (including Vanderlande’s parent Toyota Industries Corporation) and subject to regulatory approvals — will expand Vanderlande’s airport baggage, cargo handling and digital solutions capabilities and is expected to close next year.
