EQT Infrastructure VI and funds managed by Blackstone Infrastructure have agreed to acquire Urbaser from Platinum Equity in a transaction valued at approximately $6.6 billion (€5.6 billion). The parties plan to jointly support Urbaser’s growth across municipal and industrial waste management, with a focus on expanding the fast-growing industrial waste segment and strengthening core municipal operations.

Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners Acquires Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales from Sacyr

Morgan Stanley Investment Management, through funds managed by Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP), completed the acquisition of Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales S.A. from Sacyr, S.A. The transaction gives MSIP control of a leading Spanish waste-management and treatment business (operating concession-based municipal contracts and waste-to-energy/recycling facilities) with operations across Spain, Australia and Colombia and approximately 11,000 employees.

Platinum Equity Acquires Urbaser from China Tianying for $4.2B

Platinum Equity has completed the acquisition of Madrid-based environmental services company Urbaser from China Tianying for an enterprise value of approximately $4.2 billion. Urbaser, which operates in waste collection, treatment and waste-to-energy across multiple countries and employs more than 50,000 people, will continue to be led by CEO José María López Piñol as Platinum looks to expand capabilities in sustainable waste-management solutions and grow the business across Europe and other markets.

Versar Acquires Black & Veatch Environmental Services Business Unit (BVESB)

Versar, Inc. acquired the environmental services business unit (BVESB) from Black & Veatch to strengthen its Environmental Services Group and expand capabilities in remediation, investigation, assessment and design for U.S. Federal customers. The deal adds experienced engineers and scientists focused on EPA, USACE and Department of Defense work and aligns with Versar’s strategy to broaden federal environmental remediation and site restoration offerings.

Macquarie Asset Management Acquires Beauparc Utilities

Macquarie Asset Management, via Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6, has agreed to acquire Beauparc Utilities from founder Eamon Waters and Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Fund. Beauparc is a leading waste-to-resource and recycling business operating across Ireland, the UK and the Netherlands, with more than 2,300 employees and a portfolio of about 40 waste facilities; Macquarie intends to invest to grow its circular-economy capabilities.

Platinum Equity Acquires United Site Services

Platinum Equity has signed a definitive agreement to acquire United Site Services (USS), a Westborough, Massachusetts-based provider of portable restrooms, temporary fence and related site services. USS operates a network of more than 80 locations across the United States; financial terms were not disclosed and the seller was Calera Capital.
