Thomson Reuters has acquired Materia, a U.S.-based startup that builds an agentic generative AI assistant for tax, audit and accounting workflows. The acquisition is intended to accelerate Thomson Reuters' AI roadmap and integrate Materia's capabilities across its tax, audit and accounting product portfolio to improve efficiency and advisory services for accounting firms.
