Coursera Acquires Udemy in $2.5 Billion All-Stock Merger

Coursera and Udemy signed a definitive all-stock merger agreement valued at about $2.5 billion to combine their online learning platforms into a larger skills and workforce development business aimed at the AI era. Coursera later announced the transaction closed on May 11, 2026, with Udemy delisted from NASDAQ and continuing shareholders receiving 0.800 shares of Coursera for each Udemy share.

LearnUpon Acquires Courseau

Dublin-headquartered learning technology company LearnUpon has acquired Courseau, an AI-assisted course authoring platform founded in Berlin. The acquisition integrates Courseau’s AI-native content-creation capabilities into LearnUpon’s LMS to accelerate course development, address the content bottleneck, and expand LearnUpon’s AI-driven learning offering.

Udemy Acquires Lummi

Udemy has acquired Lummi, an AI-driven design tools company founded by Pablo Stanley and Jason Donnette, and will integrate Lummi into its Innovation Studio to advance AI-enabled course creation. The deal brings Lummi Pro's AI illustration and design capabilities to Udemy instructors and will be offered as an add-on to Udemy Business enterprise customers to enhance learning content and visual storytelling.

upGrad Acquires Centum Learning

upGrad has acquired 100% of Centum Learning in a share-swap deal; Bharti Enterprises and its affiliates are joining upGrad's cap table as part of the transaction. Centum, headquartered in New Delhi, is a corporate and vocational training provider that reported ~USD 21 million in FY23 revenue and has a total headcount of over 2,000; the business will continue to operate independently under CEO Sanjay Bahl.

Skillsoft Acquires Codecademy
