IK Partners' IK Small Cap III Fund has signed an agreement to acquire Checkmate Fire, the UK’s largest passive fire protection specialist, from YFM Equity Partners. The management team will reinvest alongside IK and the firm will focus on growing its inspections division, investing in people and technology, and pursuing a targeted M&A strategy to drive further expansion across the UK.

Rapid Fire Safety & Security, a new PE-backed platform launched in partnership with Concentric Equity Partners, has acquired Security & Access Systems (SAS), a commercial and government security and fire alarm services provider headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. SAS's founders Chris and Molly Ipiotis will remain for an interim transition period as the business becomes the first add-on for the Rapid Fire platform to expand its regional footprint and service capabilities.

Blackford Capital acquired Security Fire Systems (SFS) on December 12, 2024, launching its Fire Safety Consolidation Platform; terms were not disclosed. SFS, founded in 1993 and based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area (Coppell, Texas), provides fire sprinkler design, installation, testing, maintenance and fire alarm services across Texas, Arkansas, Colorado and Oklahoma; SFS management will remain in place as Blackford pursues further add-on consolidation opportunities.
