Twitter acquired Dasient, a Sunnyvale-based anti-malware startup, to strengthen the security of its advertising platform and prevent 'malvertising.' The Dasient team will join Twitter's revenue engineering efforts and Dasient will discontinue its standalone services as it integrates into Twitter.

The deal (announced April 1, 2024 and closed June 21, 2024) brings AdTheorent's machine-learning–driven programmatic advertising capabilities into Cadent's converged TV and omnichannel advertising platform to create an expanded audience activation offering.
