JBC Technologies Acquires HST Materials, Inc.

JBC Technologies, a River Associates-backed flexible materials converter, has acquired Elk Grove Village, Illinois-based HST Materials, Inc. as an add-on to expand JBC's geographic footprint and augment its converting and die-cutting capabilities, particularly servicing automotive and off-road transportation OEMs and tier suppliers. The deal closed March 31, 2022; terms were not disclosed and the seller was HST's former ownership (Kathy Miller and Eric).

Entegris Acquires CMC Materials

Entegris agreed to acquire CMC Materials in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at an enterprise value of approximately $6.5 billion; at close the total purchase price (including debt retired and cash assumed) was approximately $5.7 billion. The acquisition brings CMC's CMP slurries, pads and related specialty materials into Entegris' portfolio to create a broader end-to-end electronic materials offering; CMC Materials has become a wholly owned subsidiary headquartered in Aurora, Illinois.

Standex International Acquires McStarlite Co.

Standex International Corporation has acquired McStarlite Co., a Harbor City, California-based maker of complex sheet metal aerospace components, for approximately $56.5 million in cash. McStarlite will be reported in Standex's Engineering Technologies Group and the acquisition is intended to expand Standex's forming capabilities and provide cross-selling and technical-exchange opportunities with its Spincraft business.

Hyperion Materials & Technologies Acquires Dura-Metal Products Corporation

Hyperion Materials & Technologies announced an agreement to acquire Dura-Metal Products Corporation, a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of wear- and corrosion-resistant precision tools and components. Dura-Metal will join Hyperion’s Precision Solutions business unit to expand the platform’s large-component machining, grinding, EDM and finishing capabilities for end markets including aerospace, energy and medical.

Sky Island Capital Acquires Majority Control of Material Sciences Corporation

Dallas-based private equity firm Sky Island Capital made a majority investment in Material Sciences Corporation (MSC), a Canton, Michigan-headquartered producer of advanced materials and specialty coated metals. Sky Island said the investment will support organic growth and add-on acquisition activity as MSC serves end markets including transportation, building products, and packaging.

IDEX Corporation Acquires STC Material Solutions from Artemis

IDEX Corporation agreed to acquire STC Material Solutions, an advanced materials and technical ceramics manufacturer headquartered in St. Albans, Vermont, from Artemis. The transaction (cash consideration of $206 million, subject to adjustments) expands IDEX's material science and manufacturing capabilities and will include STC in IDEX's Health & Science Technologies segment.
