Verint Acquires Conversocial

The deal was announced in August 2021; Conversocial — which has offices in New York and London and roughly 80 employees — was acquired for about $50 million in cash.

Clarivate Acquires ProQuest

Clarivate plc announced a definitive agreement on May 17, 2021 and completed the acquisition of ProQuest on Dec. 1, 2021. Clarivate paid $5.3 billion including refinancing of ProQuest debt (approximately $4.0 billion cash and $1.3 billion equity) to acquire the global software, content, data and analytics provider from Cambridge Information Group and other investors including Atairos to expand its research intelligence capabilities.

Sinch AB Acquires Inteliquent for U.S. Voice Leadership

Sinch AB agreed to acquire Inteliquent, the largest independent U.S. voice communications provider, for $1.14 billion in cash to broaden its CPaaS offering and establish leadership in U.S. voice. The acquisition gives Sinch Inteliquent's carrier-grade network, extensive phone-number inventory and voice APIs; closing is subject to customary regulatory approvals including CFIUS and FCC and was expected in H2 2021.

Pegasystems Acquires Qurious.io for AI-Powered Speech Analytics

Pegasystems Inc. acquired Qurious.io, a San Francisco–based provider of real-time AI-powered speech analytics for customer service teams. The acquisition will integrate Qurious.io's speech-to-text, NLP and emotion-detection SaaS capabilities into Pega Customer Service to provide real-time agent insights and coaching; terms were not disclosed.

Silver Lake and CPP Investments (with co-investors) Acquire Qualtrics

Silver Lake, in partnership with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and several co-investors including Accel, BDT & MSD Partners and DFO Management, completed a transaction to take Qualtrics private in a deal valuing the company at approximately $12.5 billion. The investors acquired 100% of outstanding shares (including SAP’s majority stake) for $18.15 per share to support Qualtrics’ continued product and AI-driven growth as an independent, privately held enterprise cloud software platform.
