Microsoft Acquires Nuance Communications

Microsoft Corporation will acquire Nuance Communications in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $19.7 billion, including net debt, at $56.00 per share. The acquisition strengthens Microsoft's industry cloud strategy for healthcare by integrating Nuance's conversational AI and cloud-based clinical documentation solutions into Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare; Nuance CEO Mark Benjamin will remain in place reporting to Scott Guthrie.

3M Acquires Acelity (and KCI) from Apax-led Consortium for $6.725B

3M has completed the acquisition of Acelity and its KCI subsidiaries from funds advised by Apax Partners and consortium partners Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board for $6.725 billion. The transaction transfers Acelity — a global leader in advanced wound care and negative pressure wound therapy headquartered in San Antonio — to 3M, expanding 3M’s medical products capabilities.

Medallia Acquires Voci Technologies

Medallia, the San Francisco–based experience management SaaS provider, agreed to acquire Pittsburgh-based Voci Technologies, a real-time speech-to-text and AI transcription platform, for approximately $59 million in cash. The deal, announced April 22, 2020, is expected to close in May 2020 and will integrate Voci's real-time speech-to-text and deep-learning capabilities into the Medallia Experience Cloud to enhance contact-center analytics and customer experience insights.

Commure Acquires Augmedix for $139M

The combined company aims to integrate ambient AI scribing, revenue-cycle automation, and large-language-model capabilities to reduce clinician documentation burden and accelerate product innovation.
