Electrical Services Acquisitions in Florida

Norlee Group, a Heartwood Partners-backed platform, has acquired Inter-Bay Electric Company (IBE), a Tampa-based commercial electrical contractor, in a transaction that closed on November 5, 2025. The add-on expands Norlee's Florida footprint and service capabilities—particularly in commercial, education and public-sector electrical and low-voltage work—while IBE will continue to operate under its current leadership.

Minuteman Security & Life Safety, a super-regional provider of integrated security and life-safety systems headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, has acquired Tallahassee-based security integrator Split Pine Technologies LLC. The deal establishes Minuteman’s first branch in the Florida Panhandle and brings the Split Pine team into Minuteman to support expansion across commercial, government, healthcare and education clients.

Eleconnex, a portfolio company of Dunes Point Capital, has acquired Structured Cable Products, Inc. and SIMPLY45, LLC (collectively SCP/Simply45), a Fort Lauderdale–headquartered supplier of low-voltage cable and related accessories with facilities in Florida, Texas and the Netherlands. SCP/Simply45 employs approximately 30 people; Eleconnex is a New York–based electrical infrastructure supplier and a Dunes Point Capital portfolio company.

Summit Fire & Security LLC, a subsidiary of SFP Holding, Inc. (Summit Companies), acquired 1st Fire & Security, Inc., effective July 24, 2024. The deal establishes a new Vero Beach branch and combines capabilities to broaden fire protection, life-safety and security service offerings across South Florida while retaining the existing 1st Fire & Security team.

Daisy Company has completed a partial acquisition of Sarasota-based systems integrator Digital Homes Corp., closing on March 18, 2024. The deal expands Daisy’s national footprint in home and commercial technology installation and service by bringing Digital Homes into its network.

SPATCO Energy Solutions, a Kian Capital–backed infrastructure services platform, has acquired K&K Electric, Inc., an electrical services provider focused on petroleum fueling and EV infrastructure based in Sanford, Florida. The add-on expands SPATCO's petroleum and EV capabilities and Florida footprint, adding roughly 70 electricians and strengthening service offerings across the Southeast United States.

Sciens Building Solutions, a Carlyle-backed fire and life-safety platform, has acquired BASS United Fire & Security Systems, a Pompano Beach, Florida-based fire alarm and life-safety integrator. The deal expands Sciens' footprint in South Florida and adds installation, service and maintenance capabilities for fire alarm, suppression, CCTV and access-control systems to its nationwide portfolio.

The Norlee Group, a portfolio company of White Wolf Capital Group, has acquired Tietjen Technologies, Inc., a low-voltage structured cabling, fiber optics, CCTV and building automation contractor based in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The transaction was completed with senior term debt provided by White Wolf Private Credit; financial terms were not disclosed.

Sonepar's U.S. subsidiary World Electric acquired Electric Supply of Tampa, LLC (dba ESI) from private-equity owner Supply Chain Equity Partners. The deal adds nine locations and over 220 associates to Sonepar's U.S. network, with ESI's contractor business to align with World Electric and its utility segment to integrate with Irby Utilities.

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Advanced Engineered Systems (AESC), a Tampa-based provider of fire alarm, security and mass notification systems, strengthening Pye-Barker’s offerings in security and alarms within the Tampa market. The acquisition brings AESC’s installation, inspection, maintenance and design capabilities into Pye-Barker’s national full-service fire protection, life safety and security platform.

Sundog Capital has completed its first investment by combining three electrical contracting businesses—Stryker Electrical Contracting, Edge Electric, and Bay Area Electric—into a new platform called Stryker Electric. White Wolf Private Credit provided financing support (senior term loan, preferred equity co-investment and minority common equity co-investment) to back the platform formation; management (Scott Eccleston et al.) will continue to lead the combined business.

Access Control Systems (ACS), a Brixey & Meyer Capital–backed system integrator headquartered in Nashville, acquired Access Control Technologies (ACT), a Central Florida installer of automated gate systems headquartered in Orlando. The deal was sourced from Mike Knarreborg and his partners and is intended to expand ACS’s Florida presence, add capabilities, and accelerate ACT’s growth.

Fire & Life Safety America, Inc. (a subsidiary of Summit Fire & Security LLC) completed the acquisition of American Backflow & Fire Services, LLC in Orlando, Florida effective December 31, 2021. The acquisition brings American Backflow's local fire and life-safety capabilities into FLSA's Orlando location to expand service capacity across the city and the state of Florida.

Fidelity Building Services Group, backed by Onex Partners, has acquired South Florida Controls, a Miami-based building automation and controls systems integrator. The add-on acquisition (effective December 6, 2021) expands Fidelity BSG's building automation, energy management and controls capabilities and bolsters its presence in the South Florida market.

RESA Power, a portfolio company of Blue Sea Capital, has acquired Crews Electrical Testing, Inc., a NETA-accredited electrical testing provider based in Jacksonville, Florida. The deal expands RESA Power's electrical testing and transformer service capabilities and strengthens its presence across Florida and the Southeast.

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Total LifeSafety Corporation, a Jensen Beach, Florida-based fire alarm and life-safety company founded by Bryan Polhemus in 2012. Polhemus will remain to manage his team as the new branch will work with Pye-Barker’s nearby Fort Pierce operation to expand fire protection coverage across Florida’s east coast.

Ascension Property Services, a Memphis-based portfolio company of SouthWorth Capital Management, acquired Bryant Electric, Inc. of Doral, Florida. Kratos Capital advised Bryant Electric on the transaction, which closed on November 8, 2019; the deal expands Ascension’s building-services platform capabilities in commercial and industrial electrical work.
