Healthcare Services Acquisitions in West Virginia

HealthEdge Investment Partners has made a strategic growth investment in Pluri Potent Partnership, LLC (doing business as P3 Oral Surgery), partnering with P3's surgeons who retain a meaningful ownership stake. The capital and support will be used to scale P3's oral and maxillofacial surgery platform across the Mid-Atlantic, pursue new surgeon partnerships, and expand operational capabilities.

Sioux Falls-based telemedicine provider Avel eCare has acquired NightWatch, a West Virginia–based remote pharmacy services firm and subsidiary of Vaught, Inc. The acquisition expands Avel eCare’s pharmacy telemedicine capabilities and geographic reach across the Midwest and mid-Atlantic, enabling expanded after-hours hospital pharmacy coverage for hospitals, clinics and long-term care facilities.

5th Century Partners has acquired Radon Medical Imaging, a provider of medical imaging equipment service, sales, and distribution, with unitranche debt and a minority equity investment provided by Avante Capital Partners to support the transaction. The deal positions Radon as the platform for growth in medical imaging services and will leverage Avante’s flexible capital to support the company’s expansion.

Pathways Health and Community Support, a portfolio company of Atar Capital, completed the acquisition of Psychological Assessment & Intervention Services, Inc. (PAIS), expanding Pathways' footprint into West Virginia. The bolt-on deal brings PAIS's home- and community-based behavioral health, IDD and outpatient therapy services into Pathways' national platform to broaden service offerings across additional counties and communities.

Knack Global, a Florida-based provider of revenue cycle management (RCM) services, has acquired The Billing Center, a Charleston, West Virginia-based medical billing firm that serves durable medical equipment (DME) suppliers. The deal — completed with support from investors LKCM Headwater Investments and Weave Growth Partners — expands Knack's RCM capabilities in the DME market as an add-on to its platform.

U.S. Foot & Ankle Specialists (USFAS), a portfolio company of NMS Capital, has acquired Foot & Ankle Clinic of the Virginias, adding the practice's 10-location network across Southern West Virginia and Southwestern Virginia (plus a vein clinic in Boardman, OH). The deal expands USFAS's regional footprint and brings the Practice access to USFAS' administrative, IT, revenue-cycle and clinical support services.

The IMA Group (IMA Clinical Research) has acquired Exemplar Research, Inc., a community-based specialty research clinic serving the North Central region of West Virginia. The acquisition expands IMA's clinical trial network and broadens access to diverse patient populations and therapeutic capabilities in underserved areas.

Pinnacle Dermatology, a Chicago Pacific Founders–backed dermatology platform, has acquired Dermatology Associates and Skin Surgery Center, adding eight locations across West Virginia and one in Hagerstown, Maryland. The deal expands Pinnacle’s multi-site footprint in the greater Washington, D.C. market and strengthens its population skin health management platform.

BayMark Health Services has acquired Hope for Tomorrow, a residential and outpatient medication-assisted treatment (OBOT) provider based in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The acquisition expands BayMark's residential treatment footprint and outpatient OBOT capacity in West Virginia, adding one residential facility and three outpatient programs to its continuum of care.

Summit BHC, a Franklin, Tennessee-based operator of addiction treatment and behavioral health centers, has acquired Highland Hospital, a 131-bed psychiatric facility in Charleston, West Virginia. The deal expands Summit's national network and represents its first facility in West Virginia and its second acquisition in 2020.

RCap Equity Partners, a Philadelphia-area private equity firm, has made a growth investment in Ascension Recovery Services, a Morgantown, West Virginia-based provider of behavioral health development and management services. The partnership will support Ascension RS's plans to scale its substance use disorder and co-occurring disorder treatment platform and expand access to care across the United States.

MedExpress has acquired Bridgeport Express Care, a family-owned urgent care and family medicine clinic in Bridgeport, West Virginia. The deal expands MedExpress's local footprint and adds urgent care, family/sports medicine and employer health services to its network.

Waud Capital Partners announced that its portfolio company, CarePoint Partners, has acquired Total Health Services, Inc., a Clarksburg, West Virginia-based provider of in-home infusion therapies. The deal expands CarePoint's network of infusion locations and strengthens its presence in West Virginia and surrounding markets.

CarePoint Partners, a platform backed by Waud Capital Partners, has acquired the infusion division of Care Partners, Inc. The infusion business will operate as CarePoint Partners of West Virginia in Morgantown, expanding CarePoint's network of home infusion and specialty pharmacy services across the state and neighboring markets.
