HVAC & Mechanical Acquisitions in Connecticut

L & I Refrigeration, Inc., a family-owned commercial refrigeration services provider based in Middlefield, Connecticut, was sold to a Private Family Fund. The transaction closed on July 3, 2025, with Generational Group advising on the sale to facilitate owner transition and continuity of service for the company’s convenience store, restaurant and retail customers.

PremiStar has partnered with Air Temp Mechanical, Connecticut’s largest independent commercial HVAC contractor, adding the 188-employee company to its national platform and expanding PremiStar’s footprint to 16 states. Air Temp Mechanical (founded 2001, led by Jeff Leone) provides HVAC installation, maintenance, building controls, plumbing and sheet metal fabrication to education, commercial/industrial, healthcare and government customers.

Crete Mechanical Group has acquired a majority stake in C&C Service, LLC, a Stamford, Connecticut-based commercial HVAC services firm. The deal expands Crete’s partner network and marks the company’s entrance into the Connecticut market as part of its broader Northeast expansion strategy.

Thermogenics, Inc. has acquired Hartford Boiler Repair Works, a West Hartford, Connecticut-based boiler service and repair company founded in 1926. The acquisition expands Thermogenics' service footprint into the U.S. Northeast and adds Hartford Boiler Repair Works' expertise in boilers, pumps, pipe welding, zone valves and burners to Thermogenics' boiler lifecycle platform.

Anvil Capital portfolio company Air Temp has completed the acquisition of The Eugene Steinberg Company (TESCO), marking Air Temp’s fourth add‑on under the Anvil Capital platform. The deal adds plumbing design, installation and service capabilities to Air Temp’s commercial HVAC platform in the greater Hartford, Connecticut region and is intended to accelerate regional growth and expand service offerings.

Sila Services, a Northeast home services platform, acquired Absolute Air Services, a Portland, Connecticut-based HVAC installation, repair and maintenance provider. The acquisition expands Sila's presence in central Connecticut and adds local HVAC capabilities and customer service capacity to its multi-brand platform.

Munch’s Supply, the HVAC distribution division of Marcone, has acquired BellSimons, a New England HVAC distributor with 29 branches and three distribution centers across seven states. The add-on expands Munch’s/Marcone’s footprint in the Northeast (bringing the platform to 103 locations across 18 states plus Ontario) and reinforces its position in HVAC and plumbing parts distribution; the deal was supported by advisors including TM Capital and BMO Capital Markets.

Tech24, a national provider of foodservice equipment repair backed by HCI Equity Partners, acquired Commercial Kitchens, Inc., a founder-owned commercial kitchen repair and preventative maintenance provider based in Milford, Connecticut, on November 3, 2021. The add-on expands the Tech24 platform's presence in the Tri-state area and strengthens its capability to serve institutional customers in healthcare, education and other contract markets.

Strikepoint Group Holdings (SGH) has acquired Solvit Home Services, a Plainville, Connecticut-based provider of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and indoor air quality services. The transaction, SGH's seventh acquisition of the year, will expand SGH's family of regional home services brands and support growth and career opportunities for Solvit's employees and customers; Solvit owner Scott Bilodeau served as the seller and was advised by Uplift Partners.

DiversiTech Corporation acquired SpeedClean from Goodway Technologies, completing the transaction on December 15, 2020. The purchase adds SpeedClean's portfolio of coil- and HVAC-maintenance tools to DiversiTech's HVAC/R product offerings to broaden capabilities and simplify ordering for wholesale partners.

Horizon Bradco, based in Schenectady, New York, acquired Wallingford, Connecticut–based Allied Mechanical Services LLC (AMS) and New England Controls LLC (NEC). The acquisitions add commercial refrigeration, HVAC and low-voltage energy management capabilities, approximately 35 licensed refrigeration mechanics, and a Connecticut physical location to Horizon Bradco's service platform.
