BAL has acquired Ladik Law Firm, bringing sports and entertainment immigration specialist Steve Ladik and his team into BAL’s Sports and Entertainment Practice. The move expands BAL’s capability in athlete and team mobility, deepening its expertise supporting athletes, teams and leagues with immigration planning and compliance.

Proceed (formerly Counsel Press) has acquired Special Delivery Service, a Dallas-based provider of technology-driven service of process solutions. The acquisition expands Proceed’s presence in Texas and strengthens its nationwide, technology-enabled litigation support capabilities by adding real-time tracking, proof-of-service confirmation, and digital transparency tools.

Angeion Group has merged with Case Works, a tech-enabled case data and medical record retrieval provider based in Austin, Texas, to expand its mass tort and group litigation support capabilities. The integration follows majority investments by private equity firm Renovus Capital Partners in both companies in 2024 and builds on Angeion’s recent acquisition of Donlin Recano to broaden its end-to-end litigation services.

McCathern, Shokouhi, Evans (McCathern PLLC) has completed the acquisition of Briner Family Law Group, bringing attorney Marie Briner and her team into the firm. The deal expands McCathern’s family law capabilities and footprint in North Texas, enhancing its ability to serve clients in divorce, child custody, adoptions and marital agreements.

Renovus Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in Case Works, a tech-enabled litigation support company headquartered in Austin, Texas. The partnership will provide capital to expand Case Works' technology and services, grow the team, and pursue strategic add-on acquisitions to better serve plaintiff law firms.

U.S. Legal Support, a nationwide litigation support provider based in Houston, has acquired Wendy Ward Roberts & Associates, a Dallas/Fort Worth–area court reporting and videography firm. The acquisition expands U.S. Legal Support’s court reporting coverage and capabilities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, giving clients expanded local resources and access to the buyer’s national suite of litigation support services.

FNTC America, Ltd. (FNTCA), an IQ‑EQ Group company, has acquired White Rock Group, LLC to expand its U.S. timeshare title, trustee, escrow and foreclosure capabilities. Concurrently, Hayes, Johnson & Conley P.L.L.C. (HJC) has merged into Eck, Collins & Richardson (ECR), strengthening a strategic partnership to offer a single‑source solution for timeshare developers and managers. The transactions were effective March 12, 2024.

Boston-based WestView Capital Partners has made a growth investment in Physician Life Care Planning (PLCP), a San Antonio–headquartered provider of physician-authored life care plans and damages valuation services. The investment will be used to enhance PLCP's technology, infrastructure, and team to accelerate growth across new and existing geographies; financial terms were not disclosed.

Easterly Asset Management announced a strategic partnership with Lateral Investment Management and co-invested $35 million alongside Lateral in Morae Global, a technology service provider for the legal industry. The partnership will provide capital, technology and operational support to help Morae scale its legal technology and services.

Repario has acquired Breakwater Solutions, an information governance and eDiscovery specialist, bringing Breakwater's leadership and AI-driven data discovery capabilities into Repario's service portfolio. The deal expands Repario's offerings in data privacy, information governance and next‑generation eDiscovery, positioning the combined business to deliver integrated solutions for legal, compliance and cybersecurity use cases.

Cobra Legal Solutions, a legal operations outsourcing provider based in Austin, Texas, has acquired Dallas-based digital forensics and data collection firm Digital Discovery. The acquisition, supported by Cobra investor Blue Sage Capital, expands Cobra's upstream evidence collection, forensic investigations, and incident response capabilities as an add-on to its eDiscovery and data breach services.

Foster LLP acquired Dallas-based Elise Healy + Associates, PLLC to expand its Dallas/Fort Worth presence and strengthen its immigration law capabilities. The acquisition adds Elise Healy and her team to Foster's offices in Texas, bringing Foster's total immigration-focused lawyer headcount to 44.

Magna Legal Services, a portfolio company of CIVC Partners, has acquired Kim Tindall & Associates (KTA), a Texas-based provider of court reporting and record retrieval services. The add-on expands Magna's litigation support capabilities and significantly scales its presence in Texas to better serve law firms and corporate clients.

Xact Data Discovery (XDD) has acquired the eDiscovery assets of Zeledon-Castillo, LLC to expand its service footprint and capabilities in southern Texas. The deal brings Zeledon-Castillo's staff, resources and client relationships (including a Fortune 500 financial services client) into XDD's operations based in Mission, Kansas.

Blue Sage Capital completed a strategic investment in Cobra Legal Solutions, an Austin-based provider of eDiscovery technology services, managed review, contracts management and legal research. The partnership will provide capital and strategic support to accelerate Cobra's organic growth and pursue acquisitions to expand its service offering.

Lexitas, a portfolio company of funds advised by Apax, has acquired Confidential Communications International (CCI), a Houston-based medical record retrieval and deposition services provider. The deal expands Lexitas's records retrieval and court reporting capabilities and strengthens its nationwide footprint serving AmLaw 100 firms, insurance companies and large plaintiff firms.

Lexitas, a Houston-based legal support services provider and portfolio company of funds advised by Apax Partners, has acquired Steven H. Gentry & Associates, a court reporting firm based in Mesquite, Texas. The add-on expands Lexitas' coverage in the Dallas–Fort Worth market and brings additional court-reporting and remote-deposition capabilities into its national network.

Lexitas, a Houston-based provider of legal support services, has acquired Registered Agent Solutions Inc. (RASi), a national provider of outsourced registered agent and corporate compliance services. The deal, funded with additional capital from funds advised by Apax Partners (which acquired Lexitas in 2019), expands Lexitas' service offering by adding registered agent representation and subscription-based corporate compliance capabilities.

Trinity Hunt Partners, a growth-oriented middle market private equity firm, has acquired Juris Medicus, a San Antonio–based medical expert sourcing and case management company. Trinity Hunt will partner with founder Gilbert R. Meadows and the senior management team to accelerate growth through organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions while management remains significant shareholders.

Lexitas, a portfolio company of Apax Partners, has acquired Houston-based Team Legal, a provider of medical record retrieval, deposition services and data-mining capabilities. The acquisition expands Lexitas' Records division and strengthens its service offering and market presence in Texas.

Funds advised by Apax Partners (the Apax Funds) acquired Lexitas, a Houston-headquartered, technology-enabled litigation support services provider, from Trinity Hunt Partners and Lexitas management/other investors. The investment is intended to accelerate Lexitas's growth through geographic and salesforce expansion, technology differentiation, and strategic M&A.
