Logistics & Distribution Acquisitions in Connecticut

Rent-A-Container, a Kinderhook Industries portfolio company, has acquired The Eagle Leasing Company, a family-owned provider of portable storage containers, semi-trailers and ground level offices in the Northeast U.S. The deal expands RAC's geographic footprint and operating scale, creating one of the largest independent portable storage and GLO leasing networks in the Eastern United States.

Imperial Dade has acquired Russell Hall Company, a long-standing Meriden, Connecticut distributor of paper, janitorial supplies and foodservice packaging. The deal expands Imperial Dade's presence and product offering in the Connecticut market; financial terms were not disclosed.

VerifyMe, Inc. acquired PeriShip, LLC (assets) in April 2022, adding PeriShip’s time- and temperature-sensitive parcel management platform and logistics capabilities to VerifyMe’s brand-protection and supply-chain technology offerings. PeriShip, founded in 2001 and headquartered in Branford, Connecticut, provides cold-chain and last-mile resolution services for healthcare, pharmaceutical and food clients; the deal consideration was reported at roughly $10–10.5 million in company filings and press coverage.

48forty Solutions, a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, has acquired Industrial Pallet, a wooden pallet provider and recycler based in Eastford, Connecticut. The acquisition expands 48forty's footprint in the Northeast and is the sixth add-on since Audax's investment in 48forty in November 2020; terms were not disclosed.

SIRVA, Inc. entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the relocation assets of Cartus from Realogy Holdings Corp.; the deal excludes Cartus' Affinity and Broker Services businesses and was expected to close in the first half of 2020 pending approvals. The acquisition expands SIRVA's global relocation and moving capabilities, combining technology, broker networks and household goods capacity to enhance service and scale for corporate clients and relocating employees.

Littlejohn & Co. has completed the $700 million acquisition of Kaman Corp.'s distribution unit, transferring roughly 2,200 employees across about 220 U.S. locations and Puerto Rico to Littlejohn's industrial portfolio. Kaman said the divestiture lets it refocus on its core aerospace and engineered products businesses while Littlejohn expands its industrial distribution holdings.

Parts Town, a leading OEM restaurant equipment parts distributor backed by Summit Partners, acquired North American Commercial Parts and Service (NACPS), a food-equipment parts distribution and field service provider headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut. The transaction closed on June 1, 2015; NACPS operates in multiple U.S. regions and employs more than 150 people, and the deal strengthens Parts Town's service capabilities and manufacturer relationships.
