Logistics & Distribution Acquisitions in Massachusetts

MCRC has made a growth investment in Fulfillment America, a second-generation family-owned fulfillment and supply chain services provider with facilities in Billerica and Clinton, Massachusetts. The investment supplies working capital support to help Fulfillment America continue servicing national brands and support ongoing operations and growth.

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits has agreed to acquire Horizon Beverage Group, Inc., adding Horizon's Massachusetts and Rhode Island operations, portfolio, warehouse capacity and delivery fleet to Southern Glazer's U.S. footprint. The transaction expands Southern Glazer's presence into the two states and will keep Horizon's current leadership and family owners involved through the transition.

OV Loop has acquired Skipti, a rental delivery marketplace and driver/asset management software provider, to integrate Skipti's capabilities into OV Loop’s SuperApp and expand into smart EV-enabled transportation and logistics services. The deal brings Skipti’s leadership and technology into OV Loop to help drivers, retailers and mobility network companies schedule, deliver and return rentable products more efficiently and sustainably.

ModuGo, a Kinderhook Industries portfolio company, has acquired West Springfield, Massachusetts-based Kelcon, LLC, a regional provider of portable storage container leasing. The acquisition is ModuGo's second add-on since its February 2023 recapitalization with Kinderhook and establishes ModuGo's first Northeast branch to support regional growth.

Ridgemont Equity Partners led a recapitalization of RoadOne IntermodaLogistics alongside the company’s management and existing investor Nonantum Capital Partners. The transaction provides growth capital to support RoadOne’s geographic and service-line expansion, M&A activity, and technology investments; financial terms were not disclosed.

Glenview, Illinois-based Envoy Solutions has acquired Canton, Massachusetts-based H.T. Berry Company Inc., a national distributor of janitorial supplies and foodservice disposables. The deal expands Envoy Solutions' footprint in the Northeastern United States and enhances its product offerings across jan-san and foodservice categories.

Myers Industries (NYSE: MYE) acquired the assets of Mohawk Rubber Sales of New England Inc., a leading auto aftermarket and tire repair distributor headquartered in Hingham, Massachusetts. The acquisition, financed with Myers' revolving credit facility, adds four distribution centers and ~$65M of 2021 revenue to Myers' Distribution segment to expand geographic coverage, improve supply chain scale, and capture cost and growth synergies.

American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) completed the acquisition of Quiet Logistics for approximately $360 million in cash, making Quiet a wholly‑owned AEO subsidiary. The purchase brings in-market fulfillment centers and fulfillment expertise to AEO to reduce delivery costs, improve inventory positioning, and create a supply‑chain platform AEO can scale for its own brands and third‑party customers.

Envoy Solutions, a Glenview, Illinois-based distribution platform and subsidiary of FEMSA, has acquired Next-Gen Supply Group, a janitorial supply distributor based in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The acquisition expands Envoy's Northeast footprint, adds Next-Gen's distribution, chemical manufacturing and equipment repair capabilities, and increases the combined platform's operating scale and customer reach.

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. has agreed to acquire Merfish United, a leading U.S. master distributor of tubular building products, from One Equity Partners. The deal expands Reliance's distribution footprint and product offering across pipe, tubing, plastic pipe and electrical conduit through Merfish's twelve U.S. distribution centers.

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc., a subsidiary of J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc., acquired the assets of Mass Movement, Inc. to expand its final mile delivery, assembly and installation capabilities for large and bulky products. The acquisition strengthens J.B. Hunt's Final Mile Services and deepens its presence in the commercial fitness equipment end market; both founders of Mass Movement will join J.B. Hunt in leadership roles.

Shopify Inc. has completed its acquisition of 6 River Systems, adding the company’s cloud-based fulfillment software and fleet of collaborative mobile robots to the Shopify Fulfillment Network. The 6 River Systems team of more than 130 employees will remain in Waltham, Massachusetts, and the company’s brand and operations will continue as Shopify expands its fulfillment capabilities.

Palm Beach Capital (Fund III) made a minority growth investment in Consumer Products Distributors, LLC (d/b/a J. Polep Distribution Services) and Rachael's Food LLC, a long-standing full-line wholesale distributor to convenience and grocery stores. Financial terms were not disclosed; the investment is intended to support growth, product diversification and to help form a convenience-distribution platform for future consolidation.
