Acquisitions in Georgia in 2016

Commercial Metals Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, CMC Steel Fabricators, Inc., acquired substantially all assets of Continental Concrete Structures, Inc., a fabricator of post-tensioning cable and provider of design/value engineering services based in Alpharetta, Georgia. The acquisition expands CMC’s concrete reinforcing capabilities by adding post-tensioning cable production (capacity ~4 million feet annually) and engineering services to its existing rebar fabrication and steel products offerings.

Wilson Sporting Goods Co., a subsidiary of Amer Sports, acquired the EvoShield brand, including products, intellectual property and distribution rights, from EvoShield, LLC. The selective asset acquisition expands Wilson’s baseball and softball product portfolio by adding EvoShield’s protective-gear technology and brand.

Oracle Corporation will acquire LogFire Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of cloud-based warehouse management systems (WMS), to add WMS capabilities to its Oracle Supply Chain Management (SCM) Cloud. Financial terms and a close date were not disclosed; Oracle said it will add LogFire's employees to its SCM Cloud division and continue to support LogFire's products.

Local Marketing Solutions Group, Inc. (LMSG) has acquired KMA One to expand its sales and marketing support capabilities, including lead generation, telemarketing, territory development and sales enablement. The founders of KMA One, Meryl McKenna and Keith Manning, will remain with the business, which will continue to operate as a stand‑alone brand supporting LMSG companies such as JGSullivan Interactive, DuFour Advertising and WeblyGuys. Auctus Capital Partners acted as exclusive advisor on the transaction.

Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA) acquired Benefits Advisory Group, an Atlanta-based employee benefits consulting firm. All of the firm's employees, including owner Al NeSmith, will join MMA’s Atlanta operations to enhance MMA’s employee benefits capabilities in the Atlanta market; terms were not disclosed.

MillerCoors, via its craft division Tenth and Blake Beer Company, has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Terrapin Beer Company, the Athens, Georgia-based craft brewery. Financial terms were not disclosed; the deal is expected to close in August and MillerCoors said Terrapin will continue brewing and operating from its Athens facility.
