Acquisitions in New Mexico in 2023

Furniture Marketing Group (FMG), a Plano, Texas-based commercial furniture dealer, has acquired Contract Associates, a contract furniture dealer with locations in Albuquerque, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. The acquisition expands FMG's presence in the Southwestern United States and brings Contract Associates' design, planning and installation capabilities into FMG's service offering.

Conductive Containers, Inc. (CCI), a portfolio company of Great River Capital Partners, has acquired Crestline Plastics, Inc., a thermoformed optics and precision packaging manufacturer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Crestline will operate as the CCI–Crestline Division with Derek Hermann continuing as General Manager; the deal expands CCI's capabilities in optics packaging and creates a Southwest hub to better serve Southern California and Mexico.

Inszone Insurance Services, a Sacramento-based insurance brokerage, has acquired Letherer Insurance Consultants, a New Mexico agency specializing in professional liability coverage for attorneys, dentists, doctors, and accountants. The deal expands Inszone's footprint in New Mexico and enhances its capabilities in professional liability insurance.

Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (Nasdaq: BWMN) has acquired High Mesa Consulting Group, a 46-year-old multidisciplinary surveying, mapping, subsurface utility and civil engineering firm headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The acquisition expands Bowman’s presence in the Southwestern U.S., adds UAV-based geospatial capabilities and brings High Mesa’s ~22 employees and public-sector client relationships into Bowman’s national engineering platform.

Safelite Fulfillment, Inc. (d/b/a Safelite AutoGlass), a subsidiary of Belron, acquired the automotive division of family-owned Sun Glass, LLC. The acquisition expands Safelite’s service footprint and capabilities — including calibration services — in New Mexico and Colorado.

Casa Auto Group, a family-owned automotive retail group based in El Paso, Texas, has acquired Borman Autoplex in Las Cruces, New Mexico, including Ford, Honda, Hyundai and Mazda dealerships located on Boutz Road. The acquisition expands Casa Auto Group’s Southwest footprint and adds a large multi-brand dealership site with substantial on-site vehicle inventory to its portfolio.

Bersh HOA, a permanent-capital platform focused on HOA property management businesses, has acquired Blue Door Realty, a property management firm serving HOA and residential communities in the greater Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Blue Door's founder Melanie McLaughlin will remain in day-to-day leadership while Bersh provides capital and resources to accelerate organic and acquisition growth and expand services in New Mexico.

Superior Industries has agreed to acquire CEMCO, a VSI crusher manufacturer headquartered in Belen, New Mexico. The deal adds a 140,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility and dozens of experienced employees to Superior's portfolio, expanding its product offering for aggregates, recycling, mining and energy markets.

Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Jackson Insurance Solutions, an independent insurance agency in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as part of Inszone’s expansion into the Southwest. Jackson Insurance Solutions will continue operating under the Inszone brand at its current location, with all employees retained and founder Joshua Jackson transitioning following the sale.

The Riverside Company, via its Micro-Cap Fund, has acquired LightHouse Business Information Solutions as an add-on to its Managed IT Services platform ProVelocity and IronEdge Group. LightHouse, headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico (with a satellite office in Olathe, Kansas), provides outsourced IT services to SMBs and local governments across professional services, industrials, healthcare and non-profit verticals; the deal expands Riverside’s MSP footprint in New Mexico and the Midwest.

GZA GeoEnvironmental has acquired Glorieta Geoscience Inc., a Santa Fe–based environmental and groundwater consulting firm, to add specialized water-resource, hydrogeology, and environmental science capabilities. The acquisition expands GZA's geographic reach across the Western United States; Glorieta principals Jay Lazarus and Paul Drakos will continue to lead the Santa Fe team under GZA.

RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc. has acquired Highway Supply, LLC, a traffic control products and pavement marking services provider based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The acquisition — RoadSafe’s ninth since entering a strategic partnership with private equity firms Investcorp and Trilantic North America in 2021 — expands RoadSafe’s geographic footprint and service capabilities in the New Mexico market.

Alpha Safety Holdings, a Benford Capital Partners portfolio company, has completed the add-on acquisition of Pajarito Scientific Corporation. The acquisition strengthens Alpha Safety's capabilities in nuclear material characterization, containment, ventilation and radiation safety to better serve Department of Energy and commercial nuclear customers.

Clearstead Advisors has acquired Avalon Trust, a Santa Fe-based wealth management and trust firm, expanding Clearstead's presence in the Southwest and bolstering its trust capabilities. Avalon — which manages approximately $2 billion in assets and has 13 employees — will join Clearstead's platform, with Avalon leaders becoming partners and the combined firm overseeing roughly $28 billion in assets under advisement and management.

Critical Energy Infrastructure Services (CEIS), a platform backed by White Wolf Capital, has acquired Clover Leaf Solutions, a New Mexico–based provider of consulting and staffing services to Department of Energy laboratories and commercial clients. The acquisition is the second add-on to the CEIS platform and is intended to expand CEIS's geographic reach and service offerings across the U.S.; financial terms were not disclosed.

Guild Mortgage (GHLD) has acquired Legacy Mortgage, an independent New Mexico-based residential lender founded in Albuquerque in 2002. The purchase — from owner Jack Thompson — expands Guild's Southwest footprint by adding Legacy's 13 branches across Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas; terms were not disclosed.
