Trucking & Fleet Acquisitions in 2026

Alliance Fleet, a portfolio company of Owner Resource Group (ORG), has acquired Vital Truck & Van, a light commercial vehicle upfitter headquartered in Batavia, Illinois, with additional locations in Colorado. Vital's founders will join Alliance Fleet's leadership team and retain an ownership stake as the combined company pursues a national dropship upfitting facility network to accelerate delivery and expand geographic coverage.

Tailwind Capital has made a control investment in Valor Fleet Services, a Leesburg, Virginia–based towing, recovery and roadside assistance platform operating roughly 14 locations. The partnership positions Tailwind to scale Valor through operational investment and add-on acquisitions in the highly fragmented towing and road services market; Full Guard Capital is the selling sponsor and Bruce Dressel will join Valor's board as Executive Chairman.

DSV has sold 100% of USA Truck to UTAC, LLC, a private Arkansas-based entity formed by current and former USA Truck leaders including CEO George Henry, former CFO Zachary King and former CEO James Reed. The deal returns the 42-year-old carrier to U.S.-based ownership; financial terms were not disclosed and DSV said the sale positions USA Truck for future growth under local management.

Avkha Equity Holdings, a San Francisco-based private investment firm, has acquired Minnesota-based Dart Transit Company (including Dart Express and related subsidiaries), ending 90 years of Oren family ownership. The transaction (effective Jan. 1) preserves the Dart brand and day-to-day operations while Avkha plans to expand service offerings — including additional lanes, intermodal solutions, and dedicated fleets — and installs a new CEO as part of the leadership transition.
