Trucking & Fleet Acquisitions in Minnesota

Avkha Equity Holdings, a San Francisco-based private investment firm, has acquired Minnesota-based Dart Transit Company (including Dart Express and related subsidiaries), ending 90 years of Oren family ownership. The transaction (effective Jan. 1) preserves the Dart brand and day-to-day operations while Avkha plans to expand service offerings — including additional lanes, intermodal solutions, and dedicated fleets — and installs a new CEO as part of the leadership transition.

TransWood, a family-owned nationwide bulk carrier based in Omaha, Nebraska, purchased Jensen Transport of Minnesota effective July 12, 2021; terms were not disclosed. The acquisition adds Jensen’s tank-truck operations — which haul bio-fuels, anhydrous ammonia and LPGs — and expands TransWood’s regional bulk liquids and dry-bulk footprint and operating capacity.

Trivest Partners has made a growth (non-control) investment in LubeZone, Inc., a Minneapolis-based network of preventative maintenance centers serving heavy- and medium-duty trucks. The transaction is a platform investment from Trivest's TGIF fund to support LubeZone’s organic growth and pursuit of strategic add-on acquisitions across Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia.
