Saatva Merges with Bedding Industries of America

Saatva has entered into a merger with Bedding Industries of America (BIA), bringing BIA’s manufacturing footprint and licensing portfolio under Saatva’s control to create greater end-to-end supply chain ownership. TZP Group will maintain its investment in Saatva; financial terms were not disclosed. The combination is intended to expand manufacturing capabilities, create operational efficiencies, and accelerate growth for Saatva’s DTC and showroom business.

Tempur Sealy International, Inc. signed a definitive agreement to acquire Mattress Firm, the U.S.'s largest mattress specialty retailer, in a transaction first announced at an approximate $4.0 billion enterprise value and completed in February 2025 with a reported total purchase price of roughly $5.0 billion. The deal was funded with approximately $2.7 billion of cash and the issuance of 34.2 million Tempur Sealy shares; following closing Tempur Sealy renamed itself Somnigroup International and will operate Mattress Firm as a decentralized business unit while divesting a portion of retail locations and the Sleep Outfitters business to MW SO Holdings (Mattress Warehouse).

Cerberus Acquires Brooklyn Bedding and Helix Sleep to Form DTC Mattress Platform

An affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management has acquired Brooklyn Bedding and Helix Sleep and combined them into a vertically integrated direct-to-consumer mattress platform. The combined business will operate under the existing brand names with John Merwin leading the combined company and Helix's co-founders leading the DTC segment, leveraging manufacturing and digital capabilities to scale the business.
