GridSource has acquired WiseConnect and Accelerated Communications & Construction to expand its telecom infrastructure capabilities. The transactions add nationwide installation, maintenance and fulfillment services (WiseConnect) and underground/aerial fiber construction and small cell installation capabilities (Accelerated), strengthening GridSource's end-to-end telecom services platform.

Hastings Equity Partners has made a Fund V platform investment in GridSource, a Baton Rouge-based utility contractor, with founder Dusty Johnson retaining significant ownership and remaining active in management. Hastings said the investment will provide resources to grow GridSource’s telecom and gas infrastructure services to capitalize on accelerating broadband/fiber deployment and upcoming federal funding for broadband.

GridSource (Hastings Equity Partners) Acquires B. Robinson, Inc.

GridSource, a portfolio company of Hastings Equity Partners, has acquired B. Robinson, Inc., a Leander, Texas-based fiber optic construction and communications infrastructure contractor. The deal, which closed February 18, 2025, adds micro-trenching capability to GridSource's service offering and expands its coverage in Texas; the combined company will operate more than 1,000 employees across 39 locations.

Qualus Corporation Acquires GridBright

Qualus Corporation, a portfolio company of New Mountain Capital, has acquired GridBright, a Silicon Valley–area technology solutions firm specializing in grid integration software, systems integration, and advisory services. The deal (terms not disclosed) expands Qualus’ capabilities in grid modernization, resiliency, security, and renewable interconnection services; AEC Advisors advised Qualus and Capstone Partners advised GridBright.

Thoma Bravo Acquires ConnectWise

Thoma Bravo, a leading private equity firm, has agreed to acquire ConnectWise, the Tampa-based provider of a SaaS business management platform for managed service providers (MSPs). The deal (expected to close Feb. 28, 2019) will see founder Arnie Bellini transition to an advisory role while current president and COO Jason Magee becomes CEO; terms were not disclosed and financing was provided by Owl Rock Capital.
