Cloudera Acquires Certain Assets of Arcadia Data

Cloudera has agreed to acquire certain assets of Arcadia Data, a provider of cloud-native, AI-powered business intelligence and real-time analytics. The acquisition will integrate Arcadia's ArcEngine technology into Cloudera's Data Warehouse to accelerate time-to-insight and improve analytic performance for enterprise customers; terms were not disclosed.

ARCOS LLC, a Columbus-based provider of workforce management solutions for utilities, has acquired Clearion, a SaaS provider of vegetation management and asset inspection software. The acquisition expands ARCOS's capabilities in vegetation management, GIS-integrated field mobility, and asset maintenance to support utilities' reliability, grid modernization, and risk-mitigation efforts.

Veeam Acquires AI Cyber‑resilience Startup Alcion

Veeam Software has acquired Alcion, an AI-driven backup and cyber‑resilience startup focused on Microsoft 365 protection, and has appointed Alcion co‑founder Niraj Tolia as Veeam's CTO to lead product strategy for Veeam Data Cloud. The Alcion team (fewer than 50 employees) joins Veeam immediately; financial terms were not disclosed and existing Alcion customers will be offered a path to Veeam Data Cloud.

Databricks Acquires Tabular to Advance Lakehouse Interoperability

Databricks has agreed to acquire Tabular, the data management startup founded by the original creators of Apache Iceberg, in a deal reported to be for over $1 billion. The acquisition brings Iceberg expertise into Databricks to accelerate interoperability between Delta Lake and Iceberg (via Delta Lake UniForm) and strengthen Databricks' open lakehouse strategy; the deal is expected to close in Databricks' second fiscal quarter subject to customary conditions.

Databricks Acquires MosaicML

The MosaicML team and technology — known for the MPT family of LLMs and model-training optimizations — will be integrated into the Databricks Lakehouse to expand Databricks' generative AI and model-training capabilities.

Arcfield Acquires Orion Space Solutions
