Germfree Laboratories, a modular and mobile cleanroom equipment provider backed by EW Healthcare Partners, has acquired Arcoplast, a maker of seamless primary barrier cleanroom wall and ceiling systems. The deal expands Germfree’s capabilities into fixed-facility and turnkey cleanroom construction, broadening its offering across biopharma, hospital pharmacy, biocontainment and food & beverage end markets.

EW GROUP Acquires Hygiena from Warburg Pincus

EW GROUP, a German strategic holding company, has agreed to acquire Hygiena, a Camarillo, California–based developer and manufacturer of food safety and environmental diagnostic solutions, from private equity firm Warburg Pincus. The deal, announced February 16, 2021, brings Hygiena together with EW GROUP’s diagnostic businesses (including BioChek and Biotecon) to expand molecular, veterinary and environmental testing capabilities and accelerate global growth.

Ampersand Capital Partners Invests in Genezen Laboratories

Ampersand Capital Partners has made a majority growth-equity investment in Genezen Laboratories, a cell and gene therapy CDMO, to fund completion of a 25,000 sq. ft. cGMP lentiviral vector production facility and expand process development and analytical testing capabilities. The capital will support Genezen's capability expansion across upstream/downstream processing, analytical testing, and cGMP vector production to serve early‑phase and growth-stage cell and gene therapy developers.
