Marketplace-focused agency Podean has acquired Ad Advance, a Duluth, Minnesota–based retail media agency, from Permanent Equity. The deal—facilitated by Podean's private equity partner Mountaingate Capital—adds Ad Advance’s Streamline technology and retail-media/DSP capabilities to Podean’s global marketplaces platform and was announced as creating a combined business with ~260 staff across 17 countries.

Rokt Acquires Canal to Launch Rokt Catalog

Rokt has acquired Canal, a distributed commerce infrastructure platform, and will rebrand the product as Rokt Catalog to enable merchants to embed curated third‑party product assortments into checkout without handling inventory or logistics. Canal’s co‑founders will join Rokt’s product leadership as the company integrates the platform with Rokt Brain to expand capabilities and unlock new revenue opportunities across Rokt’s ecommerce products; terms were not disclosed.

GoDaddy Acquires Poynt to Expand Commerce and Payments

GoDaddy Inc. agreed to acquire Poynt to integrate in-person point-of-sale, payments and commerce capabilities into its Websites + Marketing and WordPress commerce offerings. The deal pays $320 million cash at close plus up to $45 million in deferred cash and is expected to contribute more than $150 million of bookings in 2023; Poynt CEO Osama Bedier will join GoDaddy to lead a new Commerce Division.
