The Blackhawk Group Acquires Silver Sky Aviation

The Blackhawk Group, a portfolio company of New State Capital Partners, has acquired Silver Sky Aviation of Wasilla, Alaska, expanding TBG's Performance Center Network into Alaska. The acquisition adds a sixth Performance Center location and strengthens TBG's turboprop maintenance and performance capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

Maverick Aviation Group Limited has acquired Maxcraft Avionics Ltd., a Pitt Meadows, British Columbia-based avionics installation, repair, and design engineering provider. The deal expands Maverick's Western Canada footprint and adds technical capabilities and a 30,000 sq ft facility staffed by 45 technicians and engineers to its national aviation services platform.

The Blackhawk Group, a portfolio company of New State Capital Partners, has acquired the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business of Glendale Aero Services and will rebrand the operation as a Blackhawk Performance Center (BPC-Glendale). The acquisition expands The Blackhawk Group’s Performance Center network and adds specialized Cirrus SR/Vision Jet and Cessna MRO, CAPS and avionics capabilities; Glendale’s Director of Maintenance, John Fisher, will remain in place. Terms were not disclosed.

New State Aviation Holdings Acquires Blackhawk Aerospace

New State Aviation Holdings, a general aviation platform sponsored by New State Capital Partners, has acquired Blackhawk Aerospace, a Waco, Texas-based leader in turboprop engine upgrades and aircraft performance improvements. Blackhawk will join NS Aviation's aviation portfolio alongside AVEX and continue to operate independently with its management team remaining in place; terms were not disclosed.

SMBC Aviation Capital Acquires Goshawk Management Ltd.

SMBC Aviation Capital completed the acquisition of Dublin-based aircraft lessor Goshawk Management Ltd., creating the second-largest global aircraft lessor by number of aircraft and the largest Japanese-owned lessor. The combined business operates a portfolio of over 700 owned and managed aircraft (with additional new-technology narrowbody orders) and is positioned to benefit from a sector recovery through enhanced scale and funding advantages.

The new ownership will keep existing management in place and seeks to grow Mountain Aviation's position in the Rocky Mountain region while expanding services into the oil & gas and government markets.
