Engineering Services Acquisitions in New Mexico

Salas O’Brien has merged with TechSource, bringing TechSource’s scientific and engineering consulting capabilities into Salas O’Brien’s employee‑owned engineering platform. The deal combines TechSource’s deep expertise in national security, nuclear, and high‑tech projects (supporting U.S. national laboratories and federal agencies) with Salas O’Brien’s engineering scale to expand capabilities for federal and critical‑infrastructure programs.

UES has acquired GEOMAT, a Farmington, New Mexico-based geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and special inspection consultancy. The 50+ person firm will join UES’s West region as its first New Mexico presence, expanding UES’s footprint and service offering into the Four Corners area while GEOMAT continues to be led by President Matt Cramer, PE.

Salas O’Brien announced that Chavez-Grieves Consulting Engineers has joined the firm, bringing over 45 years of structural engineering, investigative engineering, and project management experience. The acquisition expands Salas O’Brien’s structural capabilities and geographic reach to better serve high-demand end markets including data centers, healthcare, and government.

SAM, a provider of spatial data and managed geospatial services, has acquired Construction Survey Technologies, Inc. (CSTi), a geospatial services and facilities/asset management firm based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The acquisition strengthens SAM's capabilities in geomatics, data visualization, subsurface mapping, and expands its presence in the Southwestern U.S.

Chenega’s Security Strategic Business Unit has acquired E&M International (EMI), an Albuquerque-based provider of fire alarm systems, mass notification, emergency communications and clean agent fire suppression technologies, for an undisclosed sum. The deal expands Chenega SSBU’s fire and emergency services capabilities to better serve existing and future (including federal) customers.

Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (Nasdaq: BWMN) has acquired High Mesa Consulting Group, a 46-year-old multidisciplinary surveying, mapping, subsurface utility and civil engineering firm headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The acquisition expands Bowman’s presence in the Southwestern U.S., adds UAV-based geospatial capabilities and brings High Mesa’s ~22 employees and public-sector client relationships into Bowman’s national engineering platform.

Alpha Safety Holdings, a Benford Capital Partners portfolio company, has completed the add-on acquisition of Pajarito Scientific Corporation. The acquisition strengthens Alpha Safety's capabilities in nuclear material characterization, containment, ventilation and radiation safety to better serve Department of Energy and commercial nuclear customers.
